NEW YORK: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s theatrics & loud statements at the 81st United Nations General Assembly(UNGA) was nothing but, merely a mockery of Islamabad’s illicit deeds & vicious agenda on the world stage. It reflected how Pakistan systematically peddles propaganda & orchestrates fake narratives against India, to conceal its state-sponsored policy of terrorism.
During his UNGA address, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who apparently runs a toothless government as the puppet of Rawalpinidi, under the Army’s iron fist, targeted India by weaving a series of lies. He raised the Kashmir issue, which was a clear violation of India’s sovereignty & territorial integrity, despite New Delhi repeatedly reiterating the matter as purely bilateral and no scope for foreign intervention.
Pakisan PM also warned India regarding the Indus Water Treaty. However, he ignored or coverd up the fact about why New Delhi kept the transboundary river treaty in abeyance, as New Delhi has clearly mentioned that blood & water will not flow together. Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif also baselessly, again invoked the mediation of US President Donald Trump during Operation Sindoor, to halt the hostilities. This is yet another irrational statement by the Pakistan PM, probably to impress the White House & seek personal/political goals.
Beyond all these propaganda, the key highlight which exposed Pakistan’s unequivocal suuport to terror outfits is, the Prime Minister ignored or refused to answer a question on LeT terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
Sharif refuses to respond to questions on LeT terrorist Hafiz Saeed
The terrorism question followed Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif even before he took the UNGA podium. As the Pakistani Prime Minister entered the UN headquarters, reporters asked him, “Prime Minister, when will you stop harbouring terrorists?” However, Sharif did not respond. Later, as he left the UN premises, he was again asked when Pakistan would prosecute Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Muhammad Saeed. The Pakistani leader again declined to answer.
Hafiz Saeed, a designated terrorist and founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, is wanted in connection with the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He has also been named by the National Investigation Agency(NIA) as a mastermind behind conspiring the April 22, 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
Pakistan and Shehbaz Sharif repeatedly projects itself as a country committed to peace and diplomacy. This was reflected during his loud UNGA address and the diplomatic melodramatics to mediate the peace process in the West Asia conflict as well. Despite such stunts, Pakistan PM’s refusal to answer question on terrorism at the global platform, reflects its unhindered support to terrorism and attempts to conceal its terror motives beneath the veil of peace and illicit targeting of India.
PM Sharif invokes Kashmir issue; A clear violation of India’s sovereignty
During his UNGA address, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif once again triggered the Jammu and Kashmir issue, thus violated India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ironically, he called for a “just and fair solution” to the Kashmir dispute and claimed that Kashmiris had been waiting for the United Nations to fulfil its commitment to a “free and impartial plebiscite”. However, India has repeatedly mentioned that J&K is the integral and inalienable part of India. The matter is purely bilateral and no scope for foreign intervention.
On many ocassions, Indian authorities have also outrightly calrified that if anything has to be discussed on Kashmir, it is about, when will Islamabad vacate the illegally occupied area and return Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir(PoJK) to India.

Also, without any evidence, Pakistan PM alleged that Kashmiris had faced arbitrary detention, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, sexual violence and collective punishment. However, in reality, it is Pakistan who is running such inhumane campaign by infiltrating into India with the tool of terrorism.
Arbitrary detention, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, sexual violence, minority abuse, human rights violation are the everyday episode in PoJK, Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan under the iron fist of Rawalpindi & Islamabad. To cover up its misdeeds and disintegrated Pakistani society, Islamabad targets India, which is hitherto dismantled by New Delhi. Meanwhile, the fragile state of PoJK, Balochistan & the horiffic news emanating from the regions echoes the truth about Pakistani rulers.
PM Sharif’s rhetoric over Indus Water; India has clarified blood & water will not flow together
PM Shehbaz Sharif also issued blunt warnings over the Indus River system. He said any attempt to “stop, impede or divert” Pakistan’s share of the waters would be treated as an “act of war”, adding that India should “make no mistake about it”.
As a gentle reminder, India has placed the treaty in abeyance following the Pahalgam terror attack, in which Pakistan killed 26 innocent lives, by illegally intruding into India. New Delhi has maintained that the treaty will remain so until Pakistan credibly and permanently ends its support for cross-border terrorism. India has also asserted that blood and water will not flow together. Thus, India’s Indus Treaty action is a sharp response to Pakistan’s terrorism and indeed not an “act of war”.
Pak PM credits Trump for mediation in Operation Sindoor; Probably to impress White House?
The Pakistani Prime Minister also credited US President Donald Trump apparently for the “timely intervention” at a critical moment when the two nuclear-armed countries were facing the risk of further escalation. He also praised Pakistan’s armed forces and Asim Munir, claiming that Pakistan had exercised its “inherent right of self-defence” under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Pakistan’s repeated dramatic claims come despite India clarifing that US President Donald Trump didn’t mediate during Operation Sindoor. India-Pakistan issue is a bilateral matter and New Delhi has always rejected third party mediation, as a violation of its sovereignty and strategic autonomy. India, on multiple ocassions has also asserted that the request to stop hostilities came from the DGMO of Pakistan to the DGMO of India. Upon Islamabad’s request India decided to de-escalate.
Hiding the truth, Pakistan runs fake narratives and disproportionately credits Trump probably to impress the US President and accomplish its illicit goals, seal hegemonic ambitions or cover up economic crisis, domestic political disintegration etc.
India slams Shehbaz Sharif’s speech as “Hypocritical Homilies”
India sharply responded to Shehbaz Sharif’s UNGA address through its Right of Reply, with First Secretary Petal Gahlot challenging Islamabad’s portrayal of itself as a defender of peace and security.
Gahlot highlighted the history of terrorist figures operating from Pakistani territory, pointing specifically to Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, who was discovered living near Pakistan’s premier military academy in Abbottabad. India also slammed Pakistan for presenting contradictory positions on security & peace while supporting cross-border terrorism.
“We demonstrated last year that terrorists will have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide”, Gahlot said, reiterating India’s right to defend itself against terrorism and warning that continued terrorism by Pakistan would have consequences.
India further rejected Pakistan PM’s Kashmir statements, maintaining that J&K is an integral and inalienable part of India while urging the international community to examine developments in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir(J&K).
India’s rebuttal also focused Islamabad’s domestic record. Previously, Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi, in an earlier Right of Reply at the UN Human Rights Council, exposed how Pakistan is diverting the attention of the world from its domestic economic and governance challenges and sponsoring cross-border terrorism. Pakistan’s propaganda against India, hence, is outrightly exposed and disproved by India at the global platform.
