The United States people are outrightly rejecting the misplaced domestic and foreign policies of the Trump administration. They are debunking the unbridled executive powers of Trump & assert that the elected President is not the “king” with no control and compliance. The message is clear! The elected President of the United States of America(USA) is not a “king” with unbridled executive powers beyond the control of the US Congress. With this resounding assertion millions of people across the United States have hit the streets protesting against the misplaced and draconian policies of President Donald Trump. Waves of people are holding demonstrations against the aggressive mmigration and deportation decision of Trump. They are also condemning the US involvement in the West Asia conflict amid escalating tensions with Iran.

This massive wave of protest is indeed creating tremours beneath the hegemonic helm of the US President Donald Trump who is hitherto known for accelerating unilateral decisions and espousing irrational deeds. These acts of the Trump administration is infact, wastefully thwarting the money of the country, the protestors assert. On March 28, 2026, Saturday millions of people staged protests across the key states of the United States against the aggressive deportation strategy of the President, the war in Iran and other failed economic policies. The people further reiterate that President Trump doesn’t have uncontrolled powers. There has to be compliance and accountability.

Third round of “No King” rally against President Trump

This is the third round of the “No Kings” rally. The previous two rounds of protest also attracted millions of people who marched against President Trump. The first round of protest was held on June 14, 2025 on the occasion of President Trump’s birthday. During this, nearly 4 to 6 million people participated in more than 2,000 sites across the country. The second demonstration was in October 2025 where nearly 7 million people gathered across 2,700 cities of the country. These protests were predominantly against the deportation policy and other economic misdeeds of the Trump administration.

Washington, New York, Minnesota, Alaska: Key states erupt against Trump

The latest protest is particularly focused towards criticising the US war against Iran in West Asia. People carried pictures, placards and shouted slogans against the authoritarian style of governance of Donald Trump. The masses vented out their anger questioning immigration policies and the US involvement in the West Asia conflict. On March 28, people protested in Washington DC by holding a “No Kings” banner. In Minnesota, people held the paintings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and protested against the atrocities of the Trump rule. These were the two people who were brutally shot dead by the federal authorities during the protests.

In Minnesota, many people also held the US flag upside down and protested symbolising the distress and frustration towards the Trump administration. Minnesota has been a major flashpoint in the aggressive deportation policy of Trump. In Alaska, people protested all through the day by holding “No Kings” posters. The demonstrations were held not just in key cities but also in small towns. Huge marches were held in Los Angeles and New York as well. New York is infact a state, where Trump won the Presidential elections with an unparlleled mandate. However, the same state is now protesting against the President, frustrated with the authoritarian policies. In San Diego, about 40,000 people marched.

The organisers of the protest claimed that with every round of “No Kings” protest the number of demonstrators are spiking illustrating the soaring frustration against the US President Donald Trump. They also reiterated that protests were held in all the 50 states of the United States of America. One of the largest waves of protest across 50 states of the country exclaims one solid message, Donald Trump cannot exceed his powers beyond the US Congress and consolidate authoritarian rule.

The flames of the protests are ignited by multiple factors. From tariffs, soaring inflation, fiscal cliff, cost of living crisis to aggressive deportation and war in West Asia, every decision of Trump is debunked as a misplaced priority. Funds to healthcare & research have been cut, salaries are pending, but the defence spending is escalating, thus puncturing the US exchequer and triggering the masses to protest. With mid-term elections round the corner, will the massive protests build pressure on the Trump administration and impact the results, will the demonstrating people shift their mandate and how will the protest impact the hegemonic ambitions of Trump in the long-run, has to be awaited and assessed!
