Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune has opened applications for its Five-Year PG Programme in Integrative Bharat-Vidya, a first-of-its-kind transdisciplinary course that will explore rich knowledge traditions of India through a modern academic framework. Developed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Integrative Bharat-Vidya programme places a strong emphasis on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) by combining subjects such as Archaeology, History, Philosophy, Languages, Literature, Art, Religion, and Culture into a single curriculum. The programme has been designed to make students understand the civilisational heritage of India.
It will bridge India’s classical knowledge traditions with contemporary academic inquiry and real-world challenges. The programme also encourages intellectual inquiry and research by integrating traditional knowledge with modern perspectives.

About Integrative Bharat-Vidya Programme 2026
Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute said the Integrative Bharat-Vidya Programme has been designed in line with NEP 2020 and focuses on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) alongside modern education. The course will combine classroom learning with practical exposure through fieldwork and research projects allowing them to gain hands-on experience.
