In Varanasi, a large number of students participated in the ‘Stop Anarchy – Embrace Democracy’ demonstration organised by ABVP Varanasi Mahanagar at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith. The participants raised their voices in support of democracy, peace and law and order, reiterating that violence, anarchy and disorder have no place in a democratic system.
ABVP emphasises democracy and constitutional governance
Through the campaign, ABVP underlined the need to protect democratic values and ensure that public life remains guided by constitutional principles. The organisation maintained that democratic systems must function within the framework of the Constitution, with respect for the rule of law and established democratic processes.
The demonstrations also drew attention to the role of students in safeguarding democratic traditions. As an important section of the country’s youth, students have a responsibility to remain aware of national issues, participate constructively in public discourse and stand firmly for constitutional values.
The call to ‘Stop Anarchy – Embrace Democracy’ sought to highlight the distinction between democratic dissent and actions that undermine peace and public order. The organisation reiterated that differences of opinion should be expressed through peaceful and democratic means rather than violence or disorder.
Students urged to remain vigilant in the national interest
At Himachal Pradesh University, the protest placed particular emphasis on national unity and integrity, urging young people to remain conscious of their responsibilities towards the country. The programme stressed that strengthening democracy requires active participation, respect for constitutional norms and a commitment to the national interest.
Similarly, the demonstration at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith reflected ABVP’s stated commitment to promoting peace, democratic values and the rule of law on university campuses. The participation of a large number of students gave visibility to the campaign’s message against anarchy and in favour of constitutional governance.
