US President Donald Trump has asserted that he will be initiating a massive investigation against the fraudulent acts of the billionaire George Soros and his allies as per the provisions of the RICO act. President Trump alleged that George Soros is illegally fuelling money for the violent anti-national protests and also provoking terror and extremist atrocities in the country. Trump further exclaimed that Mr. George Soros and his networks are illegally radicalizing the young people by funding and training them to act against the national interests.

Donald Trump’s comments on cracking down on the sponsors of terrorism and extremism and particularly targeting George Soros come in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and a close ally of Trump. While a nationwide manhunt went on to capture the sniper who killed Charlie Kirk, President Trump in a video statement affirmed, “My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it”.

“Protestors get paid for their profession from Soros and other people. And we are going to look into Soros, because I think it’s a RICO case against him and other people. Because this is more than like protests. This is real agitation”, said Donald Trump while speaking for the Fox News. While speaking Donald Trump also recalled how a group of protestors peacefully confronted him at a restaurant in Washington this week. So, he asserted that the United States should get rid of such paid anti-national elements that are gradually encompassing the country.

In previous occasions Trump had accused George Soros and his Open Society Foundation for funding and provoking the anti-national activities. He had reiterated to charge them under the veil of the RICO act. “George Soros and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of violent protests and much more all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America anymore, never giving it so much as a chance to BREATHE and be FREE. Soros and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our country! That includes his crazy West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!” wrote President Trump on his Truth Social platform on 27th August.

RICO act is a United States federal law that stands for Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The law empowers the authorities to prosecute organized crimes such as illegal gambling, loan sharking etc. RICO can target both legitimate and illegitimate businesses and enterprises that are involved such patterns of anti-societal activities. It is deemed as a powerful tool to dismantle complex criminal networks and enterprises, than the individuals.

George Soros is a Hungarian-American billionaire investor and the founder of Open Society Foundation. He was one of the largest donors for the Democrat Party in the 2024 Presidential elections. Meanwhile, the Open Society Foundations, a philanthropic organization of George Soros has repeatedly refuted Donald Trump’s claims. The foundation has asserted that it do not fund any violent protests.
