Mohsin Khan, a shooting coach and owner of a shooting academy in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is under investigation for the alleged sexual exploitation of 20 to 25 girls from various districts. So far, five FIRs have been registered against him. He is currently in police custody on a seven-day remand.

Khan was arrested on May 21, a day after a girl filed a rape complaint against him. According to reports, two more women came forward on May 22. One of them, a practising lawyer, accused him of rape, while another, an employee at his academy, alleged sexual assault.

In addition to the sexual assault allegations, Khan is also facing a financial fraud complaint. A man named Dhruv Mahajan alleged that Khan took Rs 2.8 lakh from him under the false promise of buying a shooting rifle.

To probe the serious allegations, the police have constituted a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT). The case continues to unfold, with more revelations expected in the coming days.

A former employee of Mohsin’s home, together with his siblings Irfan Khan and Faizan Khan, filed a gang rape case against him on May 26. She claimed that at the time of the incident, she was a minor. The victim was formerly employed at Mohsin’s home as a housekeeper. She claimed that when she was 17 years old in February 2020, Mohsin made her first sexual approach. He used to bring her new clothes and advise her to dress nicely. He would force the victim to change in front of him, and occasionally, he would even do it alone. She also claimed that she and Mohsin engaged in inappropriate sexual activity. The victim said to the authorities that she had also been sexually molested by Mohsin’s friends, Irfan and Faizan. She claimed that Mohsin, Irfan, and Faizan called her to prepare meals during the COVID-19 lockdown. They locked her in a room when she got there and held her there for 15 days. All three of them gangraped her during this time.

According to one of the victims, who attended Mohsin’s shooting course, Mohsin sexually assaulted her several times between July 2022 and December 2023. She claimed that Mohsin made her convert to Islam and took off the Kalawa that was fastened around her wrist. To become a Muslim, he asked her to begin eating meat. After leaving the academy and getting married, the victim claimed that Mohsin continued to blackmail her. According to reports, he coerced her into meeting with him and threatened to release her explicit images and videos if she didn’t comply. The victim claimed that even after they were married, he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

Victim alleges Mohsin Khan imposed religious restrictions

A former employee at Mohsin Khan’s shooting academy has accused him of imposing religious restrictions and engaging in voyeuristic and abusive behavior. According to the victim, Mohsin forbade girls at the academy from chanting Jai Shri Ram, removed Kalawa threads tied to their rifles, and instructed them not to wear Tilak. She also alleged that he would peep into women’s bathrooms and ordered them to leave the bathroom doors unlocked while bathing. The victim further claimed that Mohsin pressured female trainees to eat beef, despite their personal or religious beliefs.

As the investigation unfolds, police have recorded statements from several victims who have come forward. During the probe, authorities reportedly recovered hundreds of obscene videos featuring various women from Mohsin’s mobile phone. Mohsin Khan was arrested under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He was produced in court on May 21, 2025, and subsequently sent to jail.
