NEW DELHI: The growing menace of ‘grooming jihad’ has penetrated deep into the tribal areas of Jharkhand. What is more worrisome is the fact that the accused in the case has no remorse for committing the crime and he openly flaunted that even if the police had been able to rescue one Hindu minor girl from their clutches, there are many more who are already willing to convert to Islam and willing to marry the Muslim boys.
In a recent incident of ‘grooming Jihad’ that has come to the fore from Jharkhand, a fifteen-year-old minor Hindu tribal girl, was trapped by Adnan through Instagram. Adnan became friends with the minor girl through Instagram. In the complaint filed by the parents, they stated that Adnan connected with her over Instagram. His Instagram id is adnan_khan_aaa. Adnan gradually trapped their daughter into falling in love with him and convinced her to elope to Delhi.
The parents of the minor girl filed a report of their daughter missing on October 13, 2024, and they mentioned that it was Adnan who convinced their daughter to accompany him to Delhi. After this, he called up the parents and informed them that he was head over heels in love with her and they can know more details about him from her friends Taruna and Diksha.
Digging into the details, Organiser spoke to Ambika Rai, who runs an NGO which is involved in rescuing such girls who are either trafficked or are trapped by Islamists. Mother of the minor girl is presently working as maid in Ambika ji’s house. While speaking to Organsier, she made a startling revelation that when the parents of the minor girl who had eloped with Adnan, went to the police station, the police personnel who apparently was a Muslim refused to file the complaint of their missing daughter. later, he filed the complaint, but did not provide any kind of receiving of the same to the parents pf Reena.
Further divulging more details, she said that it was only when she sternly spoke to the police official that he filed the report and gave the receipt of the same also to the parents of the missing minor Hindu triabl girl. Ambika ji also informed that apparently, Adnan was in touch with other girls of the family also and he used to say that he considered them as their sisters.
The minor Hindu tribal girl knew Adnan for quite sometime and he somehow convinced her to come with him to Delhi. Later when he got to know that the police was after him, he called up the girl’s parents and also threatened them that they should not take any legal action against him as he was well connected and they would fail to harm him.
However, once the complaint was filed and the mobile number of Adnan was traced, he was contacted, and later he assured the parents of the girl that he was sending her back to Jharkhand and would accompany her to the railway station and enable her to board the train. It was when Adanan came to the Anand Vihar railway station in New Delhi to drop the girl, that he was nabbed by the railway police who were also accompanied by female police officers.
Initially, they were not able to find the girl in the train, however,once the police acted tough with Adnan, he informed that the missing minor girl was in that train only. During the rescue operation, it was found that the girl was wearing a ‘hijab’ to hide her original identity.
On being rescued, the girl was taken for counselling. Initially, when Adnan made her speak to her family members, the girl’s sisters told asked her to return home as her mother’s condition was critical.
Ambika ji informed that it was baffling to know that Adnan had also visited the red light area of Delhi and members of another NGO who were following him informed that he visited the place late at 2:00 a.m.
Jharkhand Police had left for Delhi to get custody of Adnan. Though, the minior Hindu tribal girl has been rescued from the clutches of Adnan, Ambika ji told Organiser that there was need to to do thorough investigation of the case as it is likley that Adnan is just a small pawn of the bigger racket that is being run to traffic Tribal Hindu girls or trap them and convert them to Islam.
