WASHINGTON: The Vishva Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) has launched a national Hindu Helpline aimed at providing confidential support to Hindus across the United States facing difficult personal, family or community situations.
VHP leader Vinod Bansal in a post on X, described that the helpline is a resource for members of the Hindu community who may need guidance, compassion or practical assistance during challenging moments.

The VHPA Hindu Helpline, available through the toll-free number 833-319-4030, and its website https://helpline.vhpamerica.org/ is designed as a single point of contact for a range of situations, including family emergencies, student and youth challenges, emotional support and social or religious concerns.
According to information shared about the initiative, conversations with the helpline are confidential, with volunteers connecting callers with people who can provide appropriate support and guidance.
From youth challenges to family emergencies
The helpline is structured to address several areas affecting Hindu families living in the US. These include student and youth challenges, emotional and mental support, intervention for young people, family emergencies, social and religious support, and assistance for elderly members of the community.
The family emergency support is intended for situations such as accidents or the sudden death of a family member, including guidance for families dealing with the difficult process of sending the mortal remains of loved ones to India.
For elderly Hindus, the initiative seeks to connect visiting or resident parents with community networks and activities in their cities, with the stated aim of helping them build stronger social connections.
‘We are here because we care’
The helpline is not simply an emergency contact number but as a broader community-support network. VHPA says the initiative draws on volunteers from different regions and with different areas of expertise to help connect callers with relevant resources.
Under its ‘Seva Shakti Sadha’ initiative, the organisation also highlights support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including guidance, compassion and connections to available resources through the Hindu Women Network.
The initiative reflects an effort to create a community-based support system for Hindus in the US who may find themselves dealing with circumstances where immediate family or familiar social networks are unavailable.
