Thrissur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagavat said in Thrissur, on June 14, said that none is outsider to Sangh and all are Hindus. Dr Bhagwat was addressing a gathering of special invitees, on: The Journey of RSS in 100 Years,” in connection with the centenary of RSS. he said that “RSS is neither for power nor against anyone. Sangh has been functioning since the last 100 years. The ultimate aim is the welfare of Bharat and the entire world.”

Mohanji said that Sangh does not see any one as outsider on the basis of his religion or caste. Sangh believes that all are one. Addressing the gathering, Dr Bhagwat said, “Hindu means the cultural heritage of Bharat. It means we all are Hindus. People believe in any God or practise any religion, they are Hindus.” He further added that, “Diversity is quite human. But, Dharma unites all.  Hindu Dharma stands for human values which are essential for the welfare of the humanity. These values constitute Bharat’s strength and unity despite all diversities. Truthfulness, kindness, cleanliness and tapas constitute the basis of Dharma.  It has nothing to do with the way of worship.”

Dr Mohan Bhagavat said,” When people with Dharma live in the society, there come qualitative changes. Sangh aims to make such persons in every village of our country. Running the shakhas is the only mission of Sangh. The persons moulded in that style function in different sectors of the society for bringing qualitative changes. In each sector they function in transparent and pure style. Sangh does not control them.” Speaking about PM Modi, Dr Bhagwat said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modiji is a Swayamsevak. As the Prime Minister he functions according to the country’s Constitution. The Sangh does not interfere in it.  Several activities, including Sevabharati, function like this. They draw ideological inspiration from Sangh. Sangh does not thrust any other control on them.”

Sarsanghchalak ji said that one cannot understand Sangh if he keeps away from it and criticise. They should join the Sangh and study it. Nothing prevents them from it. Sangh believes that all are swayamsevaks who follow pure life and work for the society.  Sangh shall be understood through the activities of the Sangh and the life of the swayamsevaks.

Dr Bhagavat said that Sangh’s aim is Panch Parivarthan. Sangh is the largest voluntary organisation in the world. Sangh does not like to work as a pressure group. Sangh stands for unity. We organise the society.

Uthar Kerala Pranth Sanghchalak Adv KK Balaram, Thrissur Vibhag Sanghchalak KS Padmanabhan and  Vibhag Sahkaryavah K. Rajeshkumar participated. Union Minister Suresh Gopi and  Poojaneeya Mahamandaleswar Swami Anandavanam Bharati and several other prominent citizens attended the programme.

After addressing the gathering, Param Poojaneeya Sarsanghchalak ji answered the questions from the audience.

Answering a question regarding the statement of the Karnataka minister with regards to the registration documents of RSS, Dr Bhagwat said, “RSS has been functioning in Bharat since100 years and there is no need for any fresh registration. Sangh is not at all anxious about this issue. RSS shakhas have been functioning on open grounds for the past 100 years. We do not have anything to hide. Society is convinced about the activities of Sangh. The Karnataka minister’s statement is politically motivated. Their predecessors also have tried to impose restrictions on Sangh. Sangh has survived all.”

On being asked about Sanghs attacking the Christian missionaries, Dr Bhagwat said, “Sangh has no role in the attacks taking place against Christian missionaries in some places.” He added that Sangh does not endorse such attacks. It should be examined if proselytization leads to these sorts of incidents. Clearing the air, Dr Bhgwat said, “Sangh does not oppose if someone embraces another religion based on his own conviction. But it is wrong if someone insults another’s religion or converts them by force. These issues can be solved though discussions. There should be strict action against those who practise violence.

In response to another question pertaining to violence, Dr Bhagvat said that “Sangh holds discussions with the leaders of other religions.  Sangh does not believe in violence. If we go by that path, people will reject us. Minorities are safe in Bharat.”

Answering a question with regards to the reservation policy, Mohanji said that it should continue until its purpose is fulfilled.
