Tulsi Gabbard discloses declassified files on US funded biolabs worldwide; Was Washington secretly brewing a bio-war?

In a big expose, the US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released declassified documents about the Washington funded biolabs operating across the globe including in Ukraine. Gabbard stated that the investigations will continue to detect the nature of pathogens these labs housed, thus fuelling apprehensions about whether the US secretly prepared for a biological warfare?

In a massive revelation, the United States Director of National Intelligence(DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has released the declassified documents pertaining to the US funded biolabs operating across the globe. As per the documents, Washington DC has funded more than 120 biological laboratories across 30 countries including Ukraine. These government records raise apprehension that whether the US silently prepared for biological warfare?

Tulsi Gabbard further reiterated a major policy shift under the Trump administration and declared that Washington DC has decided to cut down the decades of federal funding for gain-of-function research across the world. Gain of function research refers to medical and biological studies that intend to genetically alter an organism to enhance or create new biological functions. This includes, increasing transmissibility of pathogens or virulence or the host range of the pathogen.

It is said that gain-of-function research is predominantly done to enhance pandemic preparedness. However, the research is highly controversial as it can lead to the spread of a pandemic as an impact of accidental release from the lab or misuse of pathogens to stimulate pandemic or other forms of biological warfare to fulfill hegemonic ambitions. Tusli Gabbard assertion that the US will stop funding these gain-of-function research thus triggers a series of doubts regarding the true intentions of Washington DC behind funding these biolabs.

Investigation continues to discover the cause of research

On June 11, Thursday, Tulsi Gabbard disclosed these high-voltage declassified intelligence material. Soon, debates erupted across the globe about the US funded overseas bio research and covert operations of the United States. As per the statement released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence(ODNI) many of these biolabs worldwide worked on highly contagious and hazardous pathogens. However, there was no credible oversight to check the nature of research. Thus, Tulsi Gabbard asserted that investigations will continue to identify “where these labs are, what pathogens they contain and what “research” is being conducted”.

These strong statements by Tulsi Gabbard thus further consolidates doubts about silent biological warfare strategies formulated in the US funded biolabs in more than 30 countries, including Ukraine. “ODNI will continue to work closely with partners across the government to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, to end dangerous Gain-of-Function research that threatens the health and well-being of the American people and people around the world”, Gabbard further stated.

One example cited by the US Intelligence Department was, Kherson Diagnostic Laboratory received a federal funding of USD 1,728,822 from Washington DC. However, its authorisation to work with specific pathogens was listed as “in progress”. Thus, a lab receiving huge funds, despite not gaining authorisation or government permission to conduct research raises doubts about the misuse of funds for hazardous or illicit acts.

Tulsi Gabbard also issued a directive to enhance intelligence surveillance and oversight over these labs. Scrutiny of such bio research centres and uncovering of more information is underway, said the statement thus raising ethical, moral and security concerns about the true intentions of these labs.

“Despite the obvious potential for catastrophic global impact research on dangerous pathogens in biolabs can have, politicians, so-called health professionals like Dr. Fauci and entities with the Biden administration’s national security team lied to the American people about the existence of US funded and supported biolabs and threatened those who attempted to expose the truth” the statement from intelligence department further alleged on the Biden administration for funding these hazardous biolabs.

According to a statement by Tulsi Gabbard, the Trump administration is halting funding to these biolabs as a measure to increase transparency and accountability in the administration and overseas funding process. The latest disclosure follows President Trump’s Executive Order 14292, signed on May 25, 2025, which seeks to halt federal funding for gain-of-function research conducted abroad.
