A 31-year-old Hindu woman from Indore has alleged that she was forcibly converted to Islam and subjected to five nikahs and three halala rituals over a span of 13 years after being allegedly trapped by a man posing as “Naveen Rana” on social media. The woman has now filed an FIR against 16 accused at Ankur Vihar Police Station, accusing them of rape, forced religious conversion, physical torture, gangrape, illegal confinement, and repeated exploitation.

According to the complaint, the accused initially introduced himself as “Naveen Rana” on Facebook in 2012. The woman, a Brahmin from Indore, alleged that she later discovered his real identity was Naved, a resident of Muzaffarnagar.

Trapped through social media, taken to madrasa

As per media reports and the FIR, the woman said Naved called her to Delhi in 2013. From there, she was allegedly taken to a madrasa in Falat area of Muzaffarnagar district. It was there that she discovered “Naveen” was actually Naved.

The woman alleged that she was confined inside the madrasa and forcibly converted to Islam. She was allegedly compelled to recite the kalma, wear a burqa, and follow Islamic practices. When she resisted, she was allegedly beaten.

She further alleged that cleric Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui and others associated with the madrasa were involved in the forced conversion process. After staying there, she was reportedly shifted to another madrasa in Meerut for nearly six months before being brought back to Muzaffarnagar.

First nikah with Maulana Abdur Rehman

The complainant alleged that her first forced nikah was conducted with Maulana Abdur Rehman, a man around 25 years older than her.

According to her statement, Abdur Rehman repeatedly raped her and allegedly assaulted her brutally whenever she resisted. She claimed he would strip and beat her, force her to wear a burqa, and pressure her to offer namaz regularly.

After nearly two months, she alleged that Abdur Rehman divorced her through triple talaq.

Three-month iddat and first halala

Following the divorce, the woman said she was kept at another madrasa for a three-month iddat period. She then alleged she was taken to a madrasa in Jaipur, where she was subjected to halala for five days and sexually assaulted.

The woman claimed that after this, she was shifted to Shamli in 2015, where her second nikah was conducted with a man identified as Mudsir. Following the marriage, she was taken to Gujarat. Mudsir reportedly died in 2019.

Third nikah with Khalid Hussain after another Halala

After Mudsir’s death, the woman alleged that another cleric, identified as Maulana Kaari Aslam, lured her and took her to a madrasa in Shaheen Bagh.

From there, she was reportedly moved to Baghpat, where another halala was allegedly conducted before her third nikah with Khalid Hussain.

The complainant alleged that after the marriage, Khalid brought her to Ghaziabad, where his family members allegedly harassed and tortured her because he was already married.

In 2022, Khalid allegedly divorced her through triple talaq.

Fourth and fifth nikah, gangrape allegations

The woman further alleged that Khalid later decided to remarry her on the insistence of his mother. For this, she was allegedly forced to undergo another halala ritual in Baghpat.

According to the complaint, Khalid arranged her fourth nikah with his brother-in-law Fakhruddin. During this period, the woman alleged that Khalid and his brother Sakib gangraped her.

After Fakhruddin allegedly divorced her, she was told she was now “pure” and could remarry Khalid. Her fifth nikah was then allegedly conducted with Khalid Hussain again.

BJP MLA’s help, FIR against 16 accused

The woman eventually escaped and approached BJP MLA Nand Kishor for assistance. With his help, she lodged a complaint at Ankur Vihar Police Station in Ghaziabad on May 5, 2026.

Police have registered an FIR against 16 accused, including Naved alias Naveen Rana, Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui, Abdur Rehman, Maulana Bilal, Kaari Aslam, Hafiz Nawab, Maulana Rashid, Fakhruddin, Maulana Furkan Qureshi, Khalid Hussain, and Sakib, among others.

Police officials confirmed that accused Khalid Hussain has been arrested and sent to jail. Authorities stated that action against the remaining accused is also underway.
