Bihar: Police arrests 45-year-old Shakeel Ahmed for raping minor girl at knifepoint in East Champaran district

The accused Shakeel reportedly forced him upon the victim girl when the latter stopped in the way to relieve herself

Patna: Police in East Champaran district arrested a 45-year-old individual for allegedly raping a 14-year-old minor girl under the jurisdiction of Banjariya police station limits. The accused has been identified as Shakeel Ahmed.

The incident took place when the victim girl was traveling with her brother on Friday evening. The accused Shakeel reportedly forced him upon her at knifepoint when the latter stopped in the way to relieve herself.

Learning about the crime, angry locals chased and caught the accused Shakeel and thrashed him black and blue. The accused was later arrested by the police.

According to media reports, the accused has a history of molesting girls in the area and was also paraded before local panchayats for his previous misdeeds.

A case regarding the incident has been lodged at Banjariya police station and medical examination of the victim girl is being conducted. The matter is being probed further by the authorities.
