After the protests and intervention made by the members of Bajrang Dal, a Hindu woman was rescued from the clutches of ‘conversion nikah’, often referred to as love jihad, by the mainstream media. The case was reported from the Badwani district of Madhya Pradesh on August 18. As of now, internet and other facilities have been suspended in the area. The protest started from the Hindu side but soon witnessed retaliation as a mob from the Muslim side started gathering. The matter started turning into a law and order situation, and hence heavy police force was deployed. The situation is now under control, and a case has been registered.

What happened?

On August 18, members of the Hindu organisation, Bajrang Dal started assembling outside the Badwani Police Station. They were protesting against an illegal ‘conversion nikah’ that was set to take place in the Pala Bazar area of the town. It were the members of the Bajrang Dal who entered the house and bursted the illegal marriage. They rescued the woman and gathered outside the police station, demanding action against the accused Muslim man.

Following this, the police took the accused into custody and began interrogation. The Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) members demanded the accused to be booked under sections of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act.

As of now, he has been booked under charges of rape and the Anti-Conversion Law. The police said, with further investigations, more charges will be invoked against the accused.

The protests

After learning about the said, ‘nikah’ the Bajrang Dal members entered the house, raised some slogans and took the woman to the police station. There were claims that the members created a ruckus in the area, pelted stones and closed the shop. However, the police refuted all such allegations.

It is pertinent to note that after the accused was handed over to the police, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad raised some slogans and recited Hanuman Chalisa outside the police station.

What said the police?

Barwani SP Puneet Gahlod said, “Kotwali police had received information that an adult girl was being forcibly married. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Based on the facts that came out after this interrogation, action has been taken against the young man under rape charges and the Freedom of Religion Act. The girl said that the accused also had physical relations with her.”

He further added, “This is a sensitive matter. There have been some reports in the city that there has been stone pelting between two sides, and shops have been closed. These reports are completely false. The police are fully prepared. There is peace in the city. I appeal to people not to pay heed to rumours. The cyber cell is taking action against those spreading such messages.”

What said the Bajrang Dal members?

Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Divisional Organisation Head Atishay Joshi said, “A young man from the Muslim community was forcibly marrying a Hindu sister. When our team members came to know about it, they handed them over to the police. There is complete peace in the city. Bajrang Dal did not create any controversy. We also did not argue. We caught the young man and handed him over to the police.”

Love Jihad

Organiser has been extensively reporting the cases of Love Jihad, not only from Madhya Pradesh but all across the country. The term love jihad was first coined in the early 2000s by the leaders of the Hindu Sena. Well, now it is being used in the mainstream media to define the cases which follow a certain pattern. In these cases, Muslim men pose as Hindus to trap and marry Hindu women, for conversion. Some, lure them and leave after exploiting them, there have even been instances of their induction to terror groups as well. With love jihad, multiple terms like Grooming Jihad, Gaming Jihad, and Land Jihad are flooding in the media.

Readers can go through these compilation stories, here and here, where Organiser has compiled hundreds of cases of Love Jihad.

Notably, to counter the genuine cases of love jihad, the Islamist machinery coined a term most recently called, ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’. Senior cleric Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani, the spokesperson of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, is a prominent name spreading it, but is not the only one.

In these cases, as alleged, Hindu men pose as Muslims to trap and convert Muslim women to Sanatan Dharma. The false-fed narrative has left the mob with the so-called intent of moral policing, where they attack every man found with a burqa-clad woman. The conspiracy theory has been exposed miserably, but still, the Islamist army keeps attacking, their own sisters and daughters caught with a Hindu man.

Organiser has exposed the whole propaganda by compiling multiple cases of fake ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’. Readers can go through a detailed report here.
