On May 13, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad volunteers in Lucknow received information regarding a man beating a burqa-clad girl inside a train. As soon as they reached the station, they found the minor was married to the man and converted to Islam.

The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Javed alias Arman Alam, while the victim is Neha Khatun (name changed) who was originally Neha Kumari Mahto, a Dalit. Both of them are the residents of the Siwan district in Bihar.
