‘Conversion Drive’ sparks Hindu protest in West Bengal: Argentina missionary confronted in Hingalganj

Hingalganj: Tensions have reportedly surfaced in West Bengal’s Hingalganj Assembly constituency after local Hindus confronted a Christian missionary from Argentina, accusing him of conducting a prolonged conversion campaign in the area and establishing house churches to reach local residents.

According to the local sources, the foreign national has been living in the Hingalganj area for several months, learning Bengali and engaging with local communities. Residents have alleged that he has been attempting to convert Hindus to Christianity and has helped establish several house churches in the locality.

Theocal Hindus reportedly confronted the missionary and questioned him about his activities, religious identity and alleged conversion work.

‘Are you converting Hindus?’

A video of the confrontation, as described in the material, shows local residents questioning the foreign national about whether he was involved in religious conversions and whether he had obtained the necessary permission for his activities.

Residents have demanded answers about his presence in the area and the nature of his religious activities.

At one point, he reportedly acknowledged that he was Christian when questioned about his religious identity. The locals continued pressing him over whether he was engaged in converting Hindus and asked him to produce documentation or permission relating to his activities.
