A 16-year-old Hindu girl went missing on April 4, 2023, from the Begusarai district of Bihar. Almost after a week, the minor was recovered from the Darbhanga district. Begusarsi police arrested Mohammad Nishant for abducting the minor.

Assistant Sub Inspector, Shri Nivas Yadav told Organiser that, the family of the minor girl suspected that Mohammed Nishant abducted their daughter. After investigating, Nishant was also missing from his house. The police began tracking the minor and Nishant’s mobile numbers and they were tracked in Darbhanga.

A team was instituted and the minor was recovered, he said the girl was recovered on April 11. On recovery, the minor underwent a detailed medical test. The accused was sent to jail.

She also recorded her statement under section 164 of the CrPC.

The accused has been booked under IPC section 366.

A First Information Report (number–110/2023) was registered at the Bachhawara police station on April 6.
In the complaint, the minor’s family (Rubi and Tarun Rai) alleged that Mohammad Nishant was stalking their daughter and they suspect he has abducted her. Their daughter refused to have any relationship with him, which is why he did this to her.

On April 4, the minor went to her coaching class after school. When she did not return from the coaching they called the teacher who informed that she did not come to the class.

The statement further read that, they complained to the Sarpanch after Nishant started stalking their daughter.

After the panchayat, Mohammad Nishant’s father Mohammad Shami sent him to Delhi. But he retuend back and started following the minor again.

This correspondent called the minor girl on April 13, who said Nishant abducted her on April 4. He showed her a knife and asked to sit in an auto-rickshaw, from where he took her to Darbhanga.

He kept her at his relative’s place. She was still in a state of shock so this correspondent did not ask her about the physical assault.

However, her brother Nitish Roy said that, his sister studies in class 11 and that the boy used to stalk her. They tried stopping him but he kept on doing that.

Now, he should be punished for all the things he has done to my sister, said Nitish.
