Musharraf Alam abducted a 16-year-old Hindu girl on April 24 from the Warisaliganj police station area of the Nawada district of Bihar. Almost after 15 days the Nawada police tracked the duo in Ranchi and rescued the minor girl, the police also arrested the accused boy.

As per a First Information Report (number–199/2023), the victim’s mother Shobha Devi wife of Kishore Kumar Gupta told the police that on April 24 her daughter went missing. She left home for tuition but did not return home. After they connected her friends they told the family that she might have left home with Musharraf.

The parents then checked her mobile phone, the family also received a threatening call, the boy on the call threatened them with dire consequences if they try and file a complaint against him. He said he would not die alone, he would also take their daughter with him.

The family alleged that the accused could do anything with the minor hence the police must act immediately.

This correspondent called up the Warisaliganj police station on May 10, the Station House Officer (SHO), Ashish Kumar Mishra informed that the minor was recovered by the police from the Ranchi district of Jharkhand on May 9.

The minor recorded her statement in front of the magistrate under section 164 of the CrPC on May 10. The accused Musharraf was sent to jail by the court. As per the police statement, the accused has been booked under IPC sections 363 and 366 (kidnapping) of the IPC.

No additional sections have been imposed against the accused said, the Station House Officer. The victim did not undergo any medical test upon recovery, when asked the reason the SHO said, the family refused to take the medical test.

As per the local reports, after the abduction the accused boy released a picture with the minor girl on social media, in these pictures the girl can be seen wearing a Burqa, which shows she was converted to Islam.

However, no statement has been made in the case so far by the victim’s family. This correspondent tried calling up the family members but the calls went unanswered.

A Vishwa Hindu Parishad activist, Vinay Thakre told Organiser that, the minor went to Bangalore from Nawada, then they moved to Kolkata, and then to Ranchi, the minor was in touch with the family after they moved to Kolkata. The minor’s father convinced her to return home promising they will marry her off to Musharraf, only then the duo has returned home.

Organiser will update the report when the family is ready to talk.

With the level of grooming in this case, this correspondent would like to mention a case from Kasganj Uttar Pradesh where a 15-year-old girl eloped with a painter Kallu Hasan in January 2022. The minor girl returned home only after her father promised that they will accept Kallu Hasan as their son-in-law. This girl also shared a video from Kallu’s house in a Burqa.

In the viral video, she can be seen saying she had known ‘Raju’ for seven years. “Raju loves me the most, even my mother doesn’t love me enough,” she said.

An excerpt from the viral video.

See how love blinds people;
Her Raju, already had a wife and a child, is now under arrest. She will be presented before megistrate soon.

After she was rescued and Hasan was arrested, the police added IPC section 376 (rape) in the case and additionally booked him under sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offence) Act. This information was shared by Anil Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Amapur police station, with this correspondent.

“This man has brainwashed her completely. Do you know he is a married man with a child whereas my daughter is still in class 10?” her father Chandraprakash said. As after her recovery, they sent her to a relative’s place where she jumped off the terrace. Before jumping, she left a note which said that she wanted to live with Raju, the father said.

“Tell me, should I give my 15-year-old girl to that man who has two children? Should I ignore that he is Muslim and will keep my daughter in burqa? Who knew he will bring a third wife too?” her father asked this correspondent.

Notably, in April 2023, Organiser reported a similar case from the Begusarai district of Bihar. Here, a 16-year-old Hindu girl went missing on April 4, 2023, from the Begusarai district of Bihar. Almost after a week, the minor was recovered from the Darbhanga district. Begusarsi police arrested Mohammad Nishant for abducting the minor.

A First Information Report (number–110/2023) was registered at the Bachhawara police station on April 6.

In the complaint, the minor’s family (Rubi and Tarun Rai) alleged that Mohammad Nishant was stalking their daughter and they suspect he has abducted her. Their daughter refused to have any relationship with him, which is why he did this to her.

In this case, also the accused was only booked under the charges of kidnapping under section 366 of the IPC.
