Hindu women working in event management firms are being forced and lured by higher daily wages if they wear the hijab during functions of the Muslim community. As this issue went viral on the internet, owning to the video report by Samvada, Bajrang Dal activists raised the issue with the local representatives, parents of the girls and the company.

Few ‘Event Management’ companies in Tumkur hire girls on a daily wage basis for various religious and personal functions, including wedding celebrations of the Muslim community.

The Hindu girls were promised daily wages of 800-1000 rupees if they agree to wear hijab and remove any Hindu symbols like Kumkum or bangles. Such girls were given major tasks at Muslim functions. However, those who disagree with such conditions were given only 300-400 rupees and were asked to do menial tasks, alleging Bajrang Dal district coordinator Manju Bhargav.

It is to be noted that the issue came to light after the event management company itself shared such photos online and was reported by the Samvada Kannada channel. Later, Bajrang Dal activists met the parents and family members of the girls working in the event management company and convinced them not to abandon the Hindu traditions for such work.
