NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has announced recruitment for 15,012 teaching posts in Uttar Pradesh. This gives teaching aspirants multiple opportunities across primary and secondary education. The recruitment includes 12,405 Assistant Teacher vacancies and 2,607 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)/Pravakta vacancies. The Assistant Teacher recruitment covers 11,508 posts in urban area primary schools and 897 Assistant Teacher posts attached to primary sections of non-government aided secondary schools. Separately, UPESSC has notified 2,607 PGT/Lecturer vacancies for aided secondary schools.
Important Dates
As per the exam dates, the UP Assistant Teacher application process begins on September 16, 2026, while candidates applying for the UP PGT Recruitment 2026 can submit their applications from September 18. Aspirants should complete the fee payment and correction process within the respective deadlines mentioned by UPESSC.

UP Assistant Teacher Vacancy 2026
Of the 12,405 Assistant Teacher vacancies, 11,508 posts are for Assistant Teachers in urban area primary schools, while 897 posts are for Assistant Teachers attached to primary sections of non-government aided secondary schools. The 11,508 urban area primary school vacancies are distributed across districts of Uttar Pradesh. The vacancy distribution includes Bareilly, Kanpur Nagar, Meerut, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Varanasi and other districts.

UP PGT Vacancy 2026
UPESSC has separately notified 2,607 PGT/Pravakta vacancies through Advertisement No. 06/2026. The vacancies include 2,329 posts in boys’ schools and 278 posts in girls’ schools. The UP PGT vacancies 2026 have been announced for various subjects, including Hindi, English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce, History, Sanskrit, Geography, Biology and Civics, among others.

OTR Mandatory for UP Teacher Recruitment 2026
Candidates applying for the UP Assistant Teacher and PGT recruitment posts must complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process before submitting their respective application forms.
