NEW DELHI: Preparations for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) are gaining momentum. A positive atmosphere and growing enthusiasm for ABVP candidates are being witnessed among students across Delhi University. Yash Dabas is contesting for President, Ishu Maurya for Vice President, Riya Chhabri for Secretary, and Lakshyaraj Singh for Joint Secretary. The voting sequence for the entire ABVP panel is 7-3-3-3. ABVP candidates and workers are actively campaigning across colleges, meeting students, listening to their concerns and expectations, and engaging with them on key issues concerning Delhi University. The campaign is focused on direct interaction with students and raising issues that matter to them.
While ABVP is consistently working on the ground and engaging with students, the Congress-NSUI is increasingly relying on social media propaganda and misinformation instead of addressing genuine student concerns. The recent internal differences and disputes within NSUI raise serious questions about the organisation’s ability to maintain coordination and unity among its own workers and leaders. Instead of addressing these internal issues, Congress and NSUI are attempting to divert attention through political allegations and misleading campaigns. The alleged incidents involving NSUI members burning the Constitution and the organisation’s own flag further expose the contradiction between their claims and actions. With the election approaching, NSUI appears increasingly focused on creating controversy rather than presenting a credible agenda for the students of Delhi University.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Shri Sarthak Sharma said, “The internal differences and disputes within NSUI clearly show that the organisation is struggling to maintain coordination even among its own people. When an organisation cannot manage its own internal affairs, how can it effectively represent the concerns and aspirations of thousands of Delhi University students? Instead of addressing student issues, NSUI is choosing the easier path of allegations, misinformation and social media propaganda. ABVP, on the other hand, is continuously reaching out to students, listening to their concerns and working on issues that directly affect campus life. Students are closely watching the conduct of both organisations and will make their choice accordingly. The support for ABVP is growing across the university, and with the 7-3-3-3 voting sequence, the entire ABVP panel is moving confidently towards a decisive victory.”
