Khalistan terror group enters CJP protests: SFJ’s Pannun offers $1 million, threatens India’s disintegration

The CJP protests have taken a new turn after Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, chief of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), announced USD 1 million in support of the agitation, claimed to have met CJP leaders via Zoom, called for the Balkanisation of India, and threatened Independence Day celebrations

The Cockroach Janata Party’s protests in New Delhi have now been openly embraced by overseas separatist forces. US-based Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, chief of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has announced USD 1 million in support of the agitation, claimed to have held a Zoom meeting with CJP leaders, urged protesters to continue their movement until 15 August, called for the “disintegration and Balkanisation of India”, and threatened to disrupt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address at the Red Fort.

Pannun claims Zoom meeting with CJP leaders

Reportedly, in a 2-minute 30-second video, Pannun claimed that he had held a Zoom meeting with CJP leaders and announced that SFJ would provide USD 1 million to support the student movement.

According to the statement, the financial assistance would be subject to three conditions:
CJP students must refuse negotiations with the Modi government.
The protests must continue until 15 August.
Protesters should reject India’s Independence Day celebrations.

Calls for Balkanisation of India

In the video, Pannun declares: “The fall of Delhi-Modi is inevitable.”

He then goes beyond criticism of the government to advocate the breakup of India, stating:

“The fall of Modi is not the permanent solution. The only real solution is the dissolution, disintegration and Balkanisation of India.”

Pannun further threatens: “We will stop Indian PM at the Red Fort on 15 August and block Modi from leading the Independence Day celebrations.”

He also announces that SFJ would organise a so-called “Khalistan Referendum” on 16 August in Indianapolis, claiming it would “liberate Punjab from Indian occupation.”

Addressing CJP protesters directly, he says: “I call on CJP students to declare a referendum on Modi to oust the BJP from power.”

The video concludes with the message: “$1 million — Help is on the way.”

Pannun’s latest endorsement of the CJP protests is the latest in a series of anti-India campaigns led by the SFJ chief over the past few years.

Despite being designated as a terrorist by India, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has continued to operate from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, repeatedly issuing anti-India threats and promoting the Khalistan separatist agenda.

NIA on terrorist Pannun:

In September 2025, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a case against Pannun for allegedly conspiring to disrupt PM Narendra Modi’s Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort. According to the NIA, he allegedly announced a reward of Rs 11 crore for anyone who could prevent the Prime Minister from unfurling the National Flag.

His latest video backing the CJP protests and threatening to disrupt this year’s Independence Day celebrations indicates that he continues to evade law enforcement agencies abroad while using foreign soil to propagate separatist and anti-India narratives.

The endorsement by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) comes against the backdrop a coordinated effort by sections of the Western media and social media networks including Reuters, BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times, Associated Press (AP), Deutsche Welle (DW) and The Wall Street Journal projected the protests as evidence of institutional failure, democratic backsliding and growing public discontent against the Modi government.
