To restore confidence in India’s examination system, the Centre is considering some of the most stringent security measures ever adopted for a national entrance examination. The government is exploring the possibility of printing question papers at the highly secure Budget Press of the Ministry of Finance and using the Indian Air Force (IAF) for their transportation across the country. The proposed measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure the fair and transparent conduct of the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled later this month.

According to reports, authorities are considering printing the NEET-UG re-examination papers at the Budget Press, one of the country’s most secure government printing facilities. The press is traditionally used for printing highly confidential Union Budget documents and operates under strict secrecy protocols. The facility has long been associated with stringent security arrangements, including restricted access, surveillance mechanisms, and controlled movement of personnel.

Indian Air Force May Handle Transportation

Another major proposal under consideration involves using the Indian Air Force to transport examination papers from printing facilities to designated centres and storage locations across the country. Earlier, this proposal was discussed during a high-level meeting attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, senior officials from the Ministry of Education, and representatives from the National Testing Agency (NTA). Officials examined whether IAF aircraft and logistics capabilities could be utilized to ensure secure and tamper-proof transportation of examination materials.

Government sources have indicated that the objective is to create a foolproof system that minimizes human interference and eliminates opportunities for unauthorized access during transit. However, a final decision on the use of the Air Force is still awaited. Additional security arrangements, secure storage facilities, and enhanced monitoring mechanisms are also being considered.

A Message to Students

For students preparing for the RE-NEET 2026, the proposed measures send a strong signal that authorities are determined to protect merit and restore faith in the examination process. While technology and security infrastructure can significantly reduce risks, maintaining examination integrity ultimately requires robust systems, accountability, and continuous monitoring at every stage i.e., from paper preparation and printing to transportation and distribution. If implemented, the combination of Budget Press printing and Air Force transportation would represent one of the most secure examination logistics frameworks ever deployed in India.
