New Delhi: Preparations for the upcoming “Janjati Sanskritik Samagam”, scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 in Delhi, are progressing rapidly. The event is emerging as a historic national gathering dedicated to the cultural identity, faith and traditional heritage of India’s tribal communities. Organizers have informed that nearly 1.5 lakh tribal representatives and participants from across the country are expected to attend the grand event. Delegations from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are also expected to participate.
Under the program, five grand processions will be organised in Delhi, starting from Rajghat Chowk, Ramlila Maidan, Ajmeri Gate Chowk, Qudsia Bagh (Kashmiri Gate), and Shyamgiri Temple (near Shastri Park Bus Depot), which will ultimately culminate at the Red Fort complex.
The process of identifying and finalizing the routes for these processions has been completed. To ensure the successful and orderly execution of the event, continuous coordination is being maintained with the Delhi Police and local administration. Regular coordination meetings are being held at various levels to ensure that the program is conducted smoothly and safely.
Accommodation arrangements for participants have been made at 78 different locations across Delhi. Considering the summer season and rising temperatures, special emphasis is being given to drinking water and heat management arrangements for attendees. Preparations related to tents, seating and other essential infrastructure at the Red Fort venue are also progressing on priority.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the Chief Guest for the programme. According to the organisers, a dedicated coordination committee is continuously working to make this unprecedented tribal cultural gathering in Delhi a historic and well-organised event.
