NEW DELHI: “Love Jihad is when there is an agenda, a planned conspiracy to take away Hindu girls, that is not acceptable; when it is one way, it is not love, it’s a conspiracy,” said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale in an exclusive interview with PTI’s CEO & Editor-in-Chief Vijay Joshi.

“If it is pure love, there is no question. When it is ‘jihad’, there is a question. The point is, when two individuals are in love, there is no religion, nationality, etc. That love is pure. In many RSS families, people have married individuals of different nationalities because it was love, and we have welcomed it, celebrated it, and attended the weddings. So, there is no issue there. But when it becomes an agenda, and there is a planned conspiracy to lure Hindu girls, then that becomes a question and it creates friction,” he said.

When asked about Tamil Nadu LoP Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remark that Sanatana Dharma must be abolished’, he said, “It’s his opinion, and people have answered in the election, but one thing, see Sanatan will not go, Sanatan is the spirit and soul of this nation, it is not a religious practice, it is a value. It is eternal, the eternity is Sanatan. It is like a banyan tree, even after 200 years, it stands. The roots are stronger, and deeper. The tree is ever fresh. It is a fantastic combination.”

Responding to a query on West Bengal Assembly election results, he said, “Every Hindu voter became a Hindu worker in Bengal; the results prove that when you are pushed to the wall, you will hit back.”
