NEW DELHI: Vishva Hindu Parishad International President and senior advocate Alok Kumar strongly condemned Udhayanidhi Stalin’s anti-Sanatan statement in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, asking, “Can he dare make such a statement against any other religion? The continued insulting of Sanatan Hinduism and its beliefs is contrary to democratic and constitutional values. The Leader of the Opposition’s statement should be immediately expunged from the Assembly proceedings.”
He said it is extremely ironic that the very families and political parties that directly or indirectly benefit from Sanatan traditions, temples, and Hindu society are themselves calling for the end of Sanatan. The Tamil Nadu government receives substantial revenue from the state’s renowned temples and religious sites associated with Sanatan traditions. Despite this, displaying an anti-Sanatan mentality is tantamount to shooting oneself in the foot.
Alok Kumar said that the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should also clarify his position on this issue whether his government is in favour of respecting the Sanatan tradition and Hindu beliefs or it supports such divisive and malicious anti-Hindu statements.
He demanded that such highly objectionable and divisive statements be immediately removed from the proceedings of the Assembly and necessary steps be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
The VHP President said that Sanatan Hindu Dharma is the cultural soul of Tamil Nadu and all of India. History bears witness that many ideologies that attempted to destroy Sanatan Dharma have themselves perished, but Sanatan Dharma continues to guide society with the same strength, devotion, and comprehensiveness today and will continue to do so.
