“Kept watching, sitting close, talking about my body”: 23-year-old faced the trauma of a lifetime at TCS Nashik-Details

The TCS Nashik case continues to deepen, with multiple victim testimonies pointing towards a pattern of harassment, coercion, and alleged targeting. With nine FIRs now registered, the case is increasingly being seen beyond isolated incidents, raising serious concerns about what has been described as “Corporate Jihad"

The testimonies of victims in the TCS Nashik case have been startling. Out of the nine victims, many have alleged that they were manipulated into following Islamic practices and were abused and harassed in a very disturbing manner. While some faced harassment within the office premises, others have spoken about interference in their personal lives, and a few have even alleged sexual exploitation.

Apart from these allegations and testimonies, there have also been revelations around suspected links to trafficking. It has been alleged that women were promised placements in Malaysia, with their original documents confiscated, and connections traced to an individual identified as Imran. Organiser has been consistently reporting on the case and has documented multiple testimonies.

The case, according to several accounts, needs to be viewed beyond isolated incidents, as the victims have alleged that they were systematically targeted, abused, and manipulated, with the end goal of converting them to Islam.

This report focuses on the testimony of another Hindu woman, identified as Ritika Chawla (name changed, surname retained). She has lodged an FIR (Number: 169/2026) at the Mumbai Naka Police Station on April 2, 2026. Based on her complaint, the accused have been booked under Sections 74, 75, 79, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In her complaint, the 23-year-old Business Process Associate stated, “I am currently working as an Associate in the team of Team Leader Raza Memon. The nature of my work is to call and provide information to Axis Bank outstanding auto loan holders through tele-calling and my work is done from the ODC 02 department.”

She went on to describe how the alleged harassment began soon after she joined the company. “I joined TCS in January 2025. At that time, Shahrukh Qureshi was the one who trained me, but Shahrukh was not giving us systematic training. At that time, Shahrukh had asked his friend Shafi Sheikh to train us.”

She added that the interaction quickly became inappropriate. “While Shafi was training me, he asked about my personal life instead of talking about work, that was the first time I talked to him. But later he started asking about my personal life repeatedly.”

Despite her objections, the behaviour allegedly continued. “I told Shafi that I did not want to talk about my personal life with you. Even after saying that, he repeatedly talked to me about my family, my mother’s illness, when I go and come home, did I eat, did I sleep.”

The questions, she said, became increasingly intrusive. “Also, ‘Do you have a boyfriend? If you do not have a boyfriend, then you must have an ex-boyfriend. Have you had physical relations with your boyfriend?’ He was asking me such private things.”

She further alleged, “While Shafi was in the office, he came very close to me and asked me obscene things about my private life, which made me feel ashamed.”

She added, “I was very scared at that time because Shafi always came close to me and did such things. I had also requested Shafi not to talk to me like that at that time. But there was no improvement in him. When I was working in the office, he would always come close to me and forcefully talk about my private life, but I ignored him and did my work. But because of his behaviour, I was under a lot of stress. I didn’t even know who to complain to.”

She further stated, “Meanwhile, in August 2025, while I was working in the office, I was sitting alone in the canteen on the second floor for a break when Shafi came to me and said to me, ‘I really like you, you can be my girlfriend.’ I was very shocked. I came to my office scared and sat on the chair crying. At that time, Shafi came close to me again and was trying to talk to me, but I refused him. Even then, he was trying to talk to me; when I ignored him, he left the place near me. I was very embarrassed when Shafi proposed to me, but even then, I ignored him and I refused to talk to Shafi by telling him that I didn’t like these things and reduced my conversations with him. But even when Shafi tried to talk to me about some topic, I tried to ignore him and I was in a lot of mental stress.”

Statement in the FIR as accessed by Organiser

She further added, “On this day, December 9, 2025, I was at work in my office as usual. In the evening, while I was going home from work, Shafi came close to me and said, ‘If you don’t go to the office, I won’t go either.’ At that time, Devendra Nakka and Magesh Tangde were also in the office. I felt ashamed because he said this about me in front of people in the office. After the above incident, when I came to the office the next day, I complained to our team leader Raza Memon that Shafi repeatedly approaches me, and he has proposed to me when I don’t want to, and he approaches me when I don’t want to, and when I am alone in the office, he says, ‘If you don’t go to the office, I won’t go either.’ At that time, Raza Memon called Shafi and me to the office cabin and discussed it and told us to go to work, saying that Shafi would not do it again. At that time, Raza Memon should have taken action against him after I complained, but he ignored it.”

She said, “After I complained against Shafi, Shafi and Shahrukh started targeting me from that time. After Shafi, our team leader Raza Memon also tried to talk to me in his training room and talk about my personal life without any reason, leaving aside work matters. Since Raza Memon was my team leader, I had to talk to him. But Raza Memon took advantage of being the team leader and started talking to me about my personal life. He was talking about things like do you have a boyfriend, do you go for walks, who is at home? But I ignored this and was concentrating on my work.

She added, “One day, Raza Memon called me to the office and asked me if I was suffering from PCOD. Then I felt surprised. I asked Raza Memon how he knew so much about me and who told him about it, but he did not tell me anything at that time. Then I came to know that only Shafi knew about my PCOD problem. When Shafi must have told him many things about my personal life, I got suspicious and even started feeling sure.”

She also stated, “Both Shafi and Raza Memon used to talk to me when I did not want to forcefully, and they were also keeping an eye on me. Due to this, I started feeling unsafe in the office. Because I had complained about Shafi before, but no action was taken on my complaint. Since I suffer from PCOD, I have hair on my chin and it is visible. Raza Memon used to tell me many times about my body in the office, ‘Do a little facial, you will look good, go to the gym, stay fit.’ Due to this, I used to feel ashamed from time to time.

She added, “Also, I felt that Raza Memon was trying to touch me by coming close to me and talking to me. I did not know to whom to complain against both Shafi and Raza. Because they had a hold in our office. Because I was sure that no action would be taken against them after I complained, I did not file a complaint at that time.”

She concluded, “From January 2025 till now, while working in the TCS office, Shafi Sheikh and Raza Memon used to contact me to talk about my private life and have physical intimacy with me even though I did not want to. Shafi proposed to me, and Raza Memon made obscene remarks about my body and also tried to touch me.”

What initially appeared as an isolated complaint soon expanded into a series of legal actions, with as many as nine FIRs being registered between March 26 and April 3.

So far, the Maharashtra Police have arrested several accused individuals identified as Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, and Ashwini Chanani. Among those named, Nida Khan remains absconding, while the rest are in police custody.

Given the gravity and pattern of allegations, authorities have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case in detail. Officials have indicated that the matter is not being treated as an isolated incident, but rather as a potentially organised pattern of misconduct that unfolded over a period of time.
