Hathras: An RSS district pracharak was injured in a suspected road rage incident on February 1 after allegedly being attacked by a group of youths, sparking outrage among BJP and RSS workers, police said.
The injured pracharak, identified as Jaikishore, was initially admitted to the district hospital and later referred to Agra for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
According to police, the incident occurred when Jaikishore was returning by car from the city to the RSS office in Naval Nagar. Two youths on a scooter reportedly blocked his car, leading to an argument over right of way. The altercation escalated, and the youths allegedly assaulted him.
Police said additional associates of the scooter-borne youths arrived at the scene, vandalised Jaikishore’s car, pulled him out, and attacked him with punches and kicks.
On receiving the information, police and RSS workers reached the spot. The injured pracharak was taken to the district hospital, where BJP and RSS leaders, including Sadar MLA Anjula Mahaur and BJP district president Prem Singh Kushwaha, expressed strong resentment over the attack.
Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha described the incident as serious and said it would not be tolerated. “Five local individuals were involved in the assault. Two have been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining three,” he added, confirming that strict legal action will be taken.
