In a shocking hate crime, a theft occurred inside the Shivalayam at Sri Ramalingeshwara Anjaneya Devasthanam in Gandhi Nagar at 3:20 AM on March 10. The IDPL Shivalayam became the target of an organized attack, where a miscreant trespassed into the sanctum, trampled on the Shiva Lingam, and stole sacred temple items, including the Nagapadiga, Kalasham, Shatagopam, and the deity’s murti

Police Action and Investigation

Following the incident, police launched an investigation based on a Dial 100 complaint and acted swiftly. As per the orders of the City CP, special teams—including police teams from other wings —were deployed. On the same day, the police apprehended the suspect and recovered the stolen items. A case has been registered under Sections 196, 298, 299, 331, and 335 of the Indian Penal Code, and the accused could face up to 14 years in jail.

However, as per sources in Balanagar, this was not an isolated incident but a pre-planned attack. Reports suggest that a local Muslim, with the support of acquaintances in Golconda, orchestrated the desecration and theft. While the police have arrested the accused, concerns remain about the larger agenda behind such attacks on Hindu temples.

Police officials have revealed that the accused has a criminal background, with previous cases of attempted murder and property-related crimes.

Hindu Groups Slam Congress Government for Inaction

Hindu organizations have strongly condemned the incident, questioning why such targeted attacks only happen in Hindu temples. They have demanded an explanation from the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing CM Revanth Reddy of failing to act on similar temple attacks in the past.

Leaders of these organizations have stated that Hindus are well aware of these repeated attacks on their places of worship and are now demanding justice and stronger action to prevent further desecrations.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage among devotees, with calls for strict punishment and further investigation into the possible network behind the attack.
