Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on March 11 assured that strict action will be taken against the criminals involved in the robbery incident at a Tanishq showroom at Arrah town, the district headquarter of the Bhojpur district on Monday.
Replying to the opposition, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured that strict action will be taken against the criminals and he already has instructed the officials to take strict action those involved in the loot incident.
The CM’s reply arrived after the opposition members demanded Kumar to take cognizance on the status of law and order in the state.
Notably 6 armed criminals barged into the Tanishq showroom of Araah on Monday at around 10.30 in the morning and looted jewelleries worth many crores on gun point.
The daylight robbery at the showroom located on a busy lane rocked the state with many opposition leaders pointing fingers on the law and order situation in the state.
The police on Monday launched a major manhunt to arrest the criminals involved in the act, nabbing two of them following an encounter. The accused have been identified as Vishal Gupta, and Kunal Kumar, both resident of Saran district.
According to the police, six people on three motorcycles were seen moving towards Doringanj and stopped by police. The accused however speedily crossed the checking barrier and were subsequently chased by the police during which two people deserted the motorcycle and started running towards Badhar area.
They also fired shots on the police, attracting retaliatory action from the police. The encounter took place near Babura Bindgama Badhar, resulting in injuries to both the robbers. Both the nabbed robbers were then taken to hospital where they are being treated.

Sharing the details of the case, Superintendent of Police Bhojpur on March 11 informed that police has registered two cases in regard to the robbery incident at Tanishq showroom.
“The police have arrested two accused. They fired at the police team and were injured in retaliatory firing by the police. Two pistols, five cartridges, and two of the three bags of looted jewellery have been recovered. An FIR has been registered… The store manager had claimed that jewellery worth Rs. 10.9 crores was looted, said the official while adding that efforts are on to nab the rest of the accused.
