Reactions of political leaders:
Reacting to the Pudukottai incident, TN BJP chief K. Annamalai said in a post on X, “In this case, an assistant headmaster was arrested. In Tamil Nadu, in all districts, students are being sexually assaulted. The TN government formed advisory groups to suggest safety measures for students three years ago. It remains only on paper. Only victims who call 1098 are getting action. The DMK government has totally failed in protecting school and college girl students. Despite the rise in crimes against women and children, there is no concrete action to prevent them. The school education minister, Anbil Mahesh, has no moral right to continue in the post. He should step down immediately, owning responsibility for failing to act and protect girl students.”

As sexual crimes spiral out of control in Tamil Nadu, critics slam the DMK government for its utter failure to safeguard women and children. Instead of addressing this alarming crisis, the ruling party remains fixated on glorifying CM Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi. This blatant neglect of governance priorities has emboldened criminals, sending a chilling message that law and order is in shambles. Critics demand swift and severe punishment for offenders and urgent measures to restore safety—before Tamil Nadu’s streets become hunting grounds for predators.
