RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale emphasised the crucial role of the Indian Vedic education system, traditions, and values in the country’s knowledge tradition. Speaking at the launch of the book Who is Raising Your Children by renowned educationist Rajiv Malhotra and co-author Vijaya Vishwanathan at the Vivekananda International Foundation, he highlighted the need to restore India’s indigenous education system, which had suffered under the colonial framework imposed by Lord Macaulay.
Addressing the gathering, Hosabale stated that despite the damage inflicted on India’s knowledge tradition over the past decades, dedicated individuals—whom he referred to as “Dharma warriors”—have played a pivotal role in reviving the Vedic education system. He underscored the significance of this book, describing it as a meticulously researched work based on traditional knowledge and historical evidence. He expressed confidence that it would contribute meaningfully to the Indian education system, aligning with the objectives of the new education policy.
Hosabale also warned of international attempts to undermine India’s education system and cultural heritage. However, he noted that thinkers like Rajiv Malhotra and Vijaya Vishwanathan have been actively countering these influences and exposing the truth. He asserted that the rich knowledge of Vedic education would help India progress towards becoming a prosperous nation, strengthening its societal and familial structures.
During the event, the authors engaged in a Q&A session with attendees and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their research and advocacy for India’s indigenous knowledge systems. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Arvind Gupta, President of the Vivekananda International Foundation, who acknowledged the contributions of the authors and the audience in fostering discussions on the future of Indian education.
