In a powerful show of solidarity, thousands gathered at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park, in Hyderabad today for the “Sanghi Bava Sabha,” organised by the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samiti under the banner of Hindu Aikya Vedhika. The event aimed to raise awareness and express support for the Hindus suffering in Bangladesh due to increasing violence and persecution.
Bhagayya ji, Akhil Bharatiya Karyakirini Sadasya, RSS, addressing the gathering as the chief guest, spoke about ISKCON Swami Chinmayananda Krishna Das, who is currently imprisoned in Bangladesh.
He also said, “The Bangladesh government has completely failed to prevent the attacks being carried out by Islamic fanatic forces targeting Hindus in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Government is playing a spectator role while the genocide against Hindus is going on, including rape and murder of Hindu women, destruction of temples and burning of properties. In this regard, the international community should come forward and put pressure on the Bangladesh government to protect the interest of Hindus in Bangladesh.”
He expressed hope for his imminent release and added that Hindu unity would soon see a positive change in the country, where Hindus would no longer have to leave but instead remain with dignity and self-respect. He noted that despite numerous countries falling to extremism in the last two millennia, India alone had withstood these forces.
He also emphasised the need for continued Hindu awakening, urging society to come together with more responsibility and unity. Drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, Bhagyaya called for this struggle to be fought at every street, village, and town, assuring that the Hindu community’s fight in Bangladesh would succeed. He clarified that the division of Pakistan and Bangladesh was temporary, and culturally, these countries were an integral part of India.
Raja Singh, a BJP MLA, also spoke out, highlighting a disturbing report from national media that the Pakistani army had entered Bangladesh to kill Hindus. He called for immediate military intervention by India to protect Hindus in Bangladesh. Singh condemned the arrest of ISKCON monk Chinmayananda Krishna Das and the attack on his lawyer, as well as the ongoing violence against Hindus in the region. He recalled India’s intervention during the 1971 war, when the Indian army had come to the aid of Bangladesh’s citizens.
Furthermore, Raja Singh pointed out that over a million Rohingya Muslims were allegedly taking refuge in India, including several in West Bengal, and warned that if this situation continued unchecked, the Hindus of India would have no place to live. He urged the government to allow Hindu refugees to settle in India for protection.

Rajyavardhan Reddy, General Secretary of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee, connected the current issues in Bangladesh with the painful history of the partition of India. He reflected on the atrocities faced by Hindus and Sikhs during the partition and criticized the decisions made by Congress leaders like Gandhi and Nehru, which had led to the suffering of these communities.
Swami Tridandi Devanath Jiyar, responding to the arrest of the ISKCON monk and the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, stressed the need for self-defense in times of crisis. He emphasized that while the scriptures preach peace, they also call for the defense of dharma in times of danger. Swami Devanath Jiyar criticized the government for using Hindu temple revenues for political gain while leaving other religious institutions untouched.
Swami Madhav from ISKCON also condemned the violence against ISKCON followers in Bangladesh and demanded international intervention. He urged Mohd Younus of Bangladesh to create an environment where all religions could coexist peacefully, echoing the prayer of Draupadi, who was saved by Lord Krishna.

Swami Banaras Babujji of Shri Shakti Peeth, speaking about the threats to Hindus in Bangladesh, also urged Hindus in India to stand firm and prepare for any eventuality. He reminded the crowd of historical instances where Hindu leaders like Shivaji Maharaj and Rani Lakshmibai had fought to protect their people, and emphasized that the time had come for Hindu leaders to take similar action for the protection of their community.
Swami Haridarshan of Swaminarayan Neelkanth Vidyapeeth suggested that the Mahakumbh Mela in Allahabad should be used as a platform for Hindu awakening, drawing attention to the fact that Muslims in India have largely remained indifferent to the struggles of Hindus in Bangladesh. He urged Hindus to unite and take action, stressing the importance of standing up for Hindu rights.
Swami Durganandpuri raised alarm over the situation in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal, where Hindu temples and the community are facing increasing persecution. He warned that Hindus’ failure to teach their children the teachings of the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavad Gita had led to the present circumstances. He also recalled the sacrifices of Indian soldiers during the Bangladesh liberation war and stated that unless Hindus protect their dharma, India and the world would face a dire future.
B Sundar Reddy, a prominent Hindu leader, called for a strong reaction to the injustices faced by Hindus, urging the international community to revoke the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also warned of the growing alliance between China and Pakistan against India and urged the Indian government to take decisive action in the face of this threat.
The “Bangladesh Hindu Protection Solidarity Meeting,” organized by the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee, saw a large turnout of Hindus, all committed to fighting for the rights and safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. The organisations participated in the event and expressed their solidarity with the Hindus of Bangladesh: Hindu Vahini, Bhagyanagar Prajahit Samiti, Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samaj, Hindu Janajagruti, Dharma Jagarana, Sanchara Jatula Abhivriddi Mandali, Arya Vaishya Seva Sangam, Bharat Swabhiman, Rajasthani Samaj, Jain Samaj, Sikh Samaj, ISKCON, along with various representatives of the public.
