ECI controversy resembles Bangladesh regime change playbook; Is it a CIA conspiracy to destabilise India?

As allegations surface about irregularities in the ECI, with opposition parties demanding resignation & warning protests, the unveiling political pattern echoes the regime destabilisation model of Bangladesh. A carefully orchestrated attempt against the elected state. The maiden victim in the larger conspiracy is the ECI, leading to public distrust in the constitutional body. The row gains further significance amid SIR & attempt to tighten the illegal vote bank. The episode thus, spikes doubt about the foreign institutional plot to degenerate the sub-continent?

Before arriving at conclusion, understanding similar political patterns and dissecting how larger regime destabilisation conspiracies unravel, provides insight about & reality behind the ongoing controversy surrounding the Election Commission of India. The allegations about the irregularities and fractured consensus in the ECI, the consequent demand by the opposition parties for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the warning by the Cockroach Party about a big scale protest, revisits a similar scenario in India’s neighbourhood. It is the regime destabilisation plot in Bangladesh.

Election Commission was the maiden placard in Bangladesh

As per the intelligence sources, targeting the Election Commission was the maiden tool in the larger regime dismantle conspiracy in Dhaka. Reports claim that the American Intelligence wing, who is infamous across the globe for regime degeneration, regime dismantle and establishing American hegemony via notorious means since the cold war era, played out a similar playbook in Bangladesh. It culminated in the ouster of Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government in August 2024.

Intelligence Inputs and geopolitical analysts ascertain that in Bangladesh, the American CIA targeted the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda was targeted. It is said that Election Commissioner(EC) Mehboob Talukdar was pitched against CEC KM Nurul Huda. The news about irregularities and faultlines within the Election Commission spreads rapidly and sets a clear narrative about the failure of the constitutional machinery. It is a systematically orchestrated propaganda. Rift in the Election Commission fuels public distrust about the elections, governance apparatus and the elected government.

This public angst will  be further flamed by other tools that aim to ideologically manipulate the electorate. Thus, the franchise is altered as per the hegemonic ambitions of the CIA. It is reported that this was the pattern adopted in Bangladesh that led to mass students’ uprising and regime overthrow. The election pattern, public opinion was also influenced by the USaid and other networks under the veil of development and democracy.

Whether there was a CIA conspiracy behind the Bangladesh regime change & if so, did Cia yield the intended results is a larger question. However, despite national elections, regime change and new government rising to helm in Dhaka, the country suffers from economic perils, democratic rights and targeted violence on minority communities. To completely uproot the seeds of regime destabilisation sowed in Bangladesh, requires decades, if the newly elected regime is not a puppet of the CIA.

What is the ECI row and SIR allegations?

On the other hand the latest developments in India targeting the Election Commission sparks doubt on the role of the CIA. Is it a first step in the larger plot weaved by the hidden hands? Is there conspiracy for regime destabilisation in India, similar to Bangladesh and Nepal, with the ultimate goal of fracturing the Indian sub-continent?

The Election Commission of India(ECI) is a 3-member constitutional body, comprising a Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) and two other Election Commissioners(EC). The latest controversy as reports erupted about the two ECs Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, being kept in dark about the key decisions. The media reports also claim that the two election commissioners objected to several decisions taken by the CEC and even complained to the Chief Secretary for not abiding to the collective decision or majority opinion.

The report by a private media platform says that in the past 10 months, two ECs objected to the 14 decisions. However, the CEC rejected them or didn’t consider them, which is a violation of the constitutional rules. Thus, opposition parties have demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Cockroach Janata Party(CEC) has warned about large-scale protests. It has been alleged that the ECI & the Chief Election Commissioner lacked accountability and violated the constitutional provisions. The opposition also alleged that democracy is being destroyed in India.

The allegations gain further significance as India is tightening the rope and scrutinising the illegal immigration, fake franchise through the SIR. By revising the electoral list, India aims to contain illegal migrants and fortify national security. However, many opposition parties and the foreign institutions who are funding them and the external organisations who intend SIR as a block against their ideological, hegemonic ambitions in India are rattled with the SIR process. They measure SIR as the destruction of their vote bank. Thus, with the latest allegations on the ECI, the hidden global hands, aim to put the accountability, constitutionality, credibility and transparency under question, thereby mislead the public and divert from the actual electoral goals of India. This will yield narrow political goals.

The ECI row spiralling in India, thus reflects a political pattern similar to Bangladesh. Pitch election commissioners against each other or run fake narratives, propaganda networks on those lines. This will mislead the electorate and fuels public distrust in the top constitutional body. Thus, public anger grows against the elected state. Constitutional credibility falls. Infuriated people are triggered to mobilise against the government. Hidden hands pitch people against the state, stimulate violence. Thereby regime degeneration or dismantle occurs and political ambitions, hegemonic deeds of foreign dark horse wins. The ECI episode in India and the series of events, thus, spike apprehension about CIA or illicit external influence?
