Baran, Rajasthan: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, on his four-day visit to Baran from October 3-6, said that the centenary year of RSS should not merely be celebrated as an event. Instead, it should fulfill the dream envisioned by Dr Hedgewar (RSS Founder) of building a strong, organised, and disciplined Hindu society. Dr Bhagwat stressed that the mission should expand the RSS’s work to every village and urban sector, reaching even sub-settlements.
On October 3, during the meeting of senior RSS officials, there was an in-depth review of ongoing projects and work strategies. Dr Bhagwat in the meeting emphasised on the importance of mobilising sajjan shakti and working on self-reliance and discipline within the society. He advocated for widespread public awareness campaigns in every village to achieve this.
The meeting at the at the Dharma Dharmashala included all the district and regional pracharaks of the prant, where the primary focus was on planning and solidifying efforts ahead of the RSS centenary year.
On October 4, Dr Bhagwat paid his respects at the historic Pyareram Ji Temple located on Mangrol Road in Baran. After the temple visit, he learned about the temple’s history, which dates back three centuries.
Notably, Mahant Shri Pyareram Ji had established a statue of Anant Bhagwan and constructed the large, three-courtyard temple.
Following the darshan (temple visit), Dr Bhagwat participated in an hour-long routine program at the temple’s Tarun Vyavsayee (Youth Businessmen) Shakha, a regular gathering of RSS swayamsewaks.
During the Q&A session with the swayamsewaks, Dr Bhagwat addressed their queries and affirmed that Bharat has always been a Hindu nation, and the aim now is to make it more advanced, powerful, and capable.
He also spoke about the importance of connecting society with the shakha, stating that “one should make acquaintances out of strangers, friends out of acquaintances, and volunteers out of friends.” He expressed confidence that regular shakha activities will produce capable volunteers for the benefit of society.
Dr Bhagwat, along with the swayamsewaks also participated in a tree-planting ceremony in the temple complex. A total of 51 saplings, including species like Amla, Bilva, and Peepal, were planted.
On October 5, while addressing a gathering of RSS swayamsewaks in Krishi Upaj Mandi in Baran Nagar, Dr Mohan Bhagwat called on the Hindu society to unite by eliminating differences and disputes of languages, caste and region for its own security.
“For its security, Hindu society will have to unite by eliminating differences and disputes of language, caste, and region. Society should be such that there is a practice of organisation, goodwill and intimacy. Discipline of conduct, duty towards the state and the quality of being goal-orientated are necessary in society. Society is not made by me and my family only; rather, we have to achieve God in our lives by taking all-around concern for society,” he said.
He said that Bharat is a ‘Hindu nation’ and that the term Hindu was used for ‘all sects’ of people living here in the country.
“Bharat is a Hindu nation. We have been living here since ancient times, although the name Hindu came later. Hindu was used for all the sects of Bharat living here. Hindus consider everyone as their own and accept everyone. Hindu says that we are right and you are also right in your place,” Bhagwat said.
He also mentioned that the RSS’s work was not mechanical but thought-based and that there was no work in ‘the world’ that could be compared to the work done by the RSS.
He said for the Sangh, the values go from the group leader to the volunteer and from them to the family members of the volunteers. This was the method of personality development in the Sangh, Dr Bhagwat added.
“Sangh’s work is not mechanical but thought-based. There is no work in the world comparable to Sangh’s work… Sangh cannot be compared with anyone. From Sangh, values go to the group leader, from the group leader to the volunteer and from the volunteer to the family… This is the method of personality development in Sangh,” he said.
