CAA: Mamata Banerjee’s police has started detention camp for Bengali Hindus

In recent times, a significant portion of the population in West Bengal has shown opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), citing vested political interests behind their stance. Critics argue that this opposition stems from a desire to suppress the aspirations of Hindus hailing from East Bengal, preventing them from living with dignity and pride

A sizable portion of the West Bengali populace opposes the Citizenship Amendment Act because they have vested political interests in it. They do not want the Hindus from East Bengal to live with their heads held high. They want them to use them like pawns and be oppressed by the political parties and corrupt police staff members all their lives.

This is how we have lived the majority of our lives, and now that CAA has given us the opportunity to live normally with our heads held high, this is why TMC, CPIM, and Congress are opposing it. An example will further shed light on this and open our eyes. On January 31, Dulal Kanti Seal and Shapna Seal of Aushgram were arrested by SI Julfikkar Ali from East Bardhmann and are in Bardhaman Jail right now. The complaint written by the SI states that the couple illegally entered India from Cox Bazar, Bangladesh, and were arrested for it and even though it has been 3 months and 18 days, the charge sheet is yet to be submitted in court. Even the family members have not been allowed to meet them.

CAA opponents who speak of detention camps, have obviously never seen one. They should go see Seal couple and answer why Hindus of East Bengal origin are being mistreated like this by West Bengal Police. Dulal Kanti Seal has a voter card, an Aadhaar card, an Indian passport, pan card,  papers of land in East Burdwan, and also residential certificate issued by Guskara Municipality. Despite having all these documents, they are in jail on the basis of SI Dulfikar Ali’s complaints.

A few days ago, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, opined that all such people are Indian citizens and that they should need new citizenship. Just a few days ago, the West Bengal CM claimed that whoever has come to India are already Indian.

If so, Dulal Kanti and Shapna Seal are also citizens of India, so why would they need any new documentation?
Madam Chief Minister, Dulal Kanti Seal and Shapna Seal, despite being Indian citizens, are being tortured by your West Bengal Police! What is the reason behind this?

Even If I believe SI Julfikkar Ali’s narrative, that the couple came from Cox Bazar, then obviously, they did not come here to feast on rice worth Rs  2/kg. The torture of Hindus because of the religious intolerance there, forced them to seek shelter here. They were tortured. If they were to ever return back, then the Jihadis would tear them apart. How can one not understand something so simple and humane, and despite the plight of the Hindus from East Bengal who oppose CAA.

Few days ago, a drama act, “Amra Onno Kothao Jabona” (We won’t go elsewhere) was presented. Few actors in the drama are recipients of Deuchi Pachami’s Coal block’s aid and other awards by state government for their political contribution. I have a question for them. They won’t go anywhere, but what of unfortunate Bengali Hindus like Seal family, who are currently in the Burdwan jail? Where will they go? They have somehow reached here, barely saving their lives, after bearing the atrocious tortures because of religious intolerance in Bangladesh.
So, as you claim, you won’t go anywhere else, likewise, where will they go?

I come from a refugee family. I was raised in a colony where there were others like me. For decades, I have seen this wicked behaviour and why we are not given the rightful citizenship and are oppressed by politicians, police officers and officials. I have seen generations suffer like this right in front of me. Now, enough is enough! Will thr families that were displaced from East Bengal, shouldn’t support Dulal Kanti Seal and his family?

CAA is the only way Bengali Hindus can live with their heads held high and be safe and if they do not take this step today, then the Hindus from East Bengal, will be teared apart by these politicians, who are waiting for it.
Why Dulal Kanti Seal and Mrs Shapna Seal were arrested by WB police? CM should ask the DIP of East Bardhaman why they were arrested.

In some cases, West Bengal police don’t bother about the law of the land. Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes ( Prevention of Atrocities) act is not honoured in the state. For the murder cases in Juranpur, Nadia and Sandeshkhali West Bengal governments didn’t provide any aid to the families of the families of the scheduled caste victims. In the present issue, SI Julfikkar Ali has clearly violated the Notification of Ministry of Home affairs dated March 18, 2016 regarding Foreigners Act amentment.

Sandeshkhali is another example of such exploitation. From Bagda Assembly constituency of North 24 Parganas to Goshaba of Sunderbans in South 24 Parganas, there are 11 Assembly constituencies. Among 11 assembly constituencies, 7 are reserved for SC and one (Sandeshkhali) is reserved for ST. Reason is very simple, people of Scheduled caste community from East Bengal have settled over here for last 5 decades. All these 11 assembly constituencies are on Indo-Bangla border.

There is a strong nexus between Jihadi elements and border criminals, who are engaged with cattle smuggling, women trafficking, etc. They have made a fabulous amount of money in last two decades. They have been exploiting Bangladeshi refugee girls and grabbing lands. TMC leaders like Sahjahan Shekh were in CPIM party earlier. They know the weak points of refugee Hindus. They cannot lodge complaints against the rapists and land-grabbers. At the end of the day, police officials like Hossain Mehedi Rehman, SP, Bashirhat ( police district of Sandeshkhali), are there to give justice on behalf of Mamata Government.
