West Bengal Governor Dr C V Ananda Bose (IAS Retd) called for the fight against the narratives meant to disintegrate and destroy the nation. The Governor was addressing the gathering after inaugurating Lakshya, the Social Media Confluence organised by Vishwa Samvada Kendra. He said that most such narratives are seen on social media. Truth should be reported in genuine manner. Bharat is a great nation. The whole world has recognised that fact. But, some people within our country find it difficult to digest. Bharat will continue its forward march, come what may.

The Governor added that what we witnessed in Sandeshkhali was the women’s upsurge against goondaraj. There, we saw the rise of women’s power. Sandeshkhali is an island. It is thickly populated with three thousand people, and there is no bridge to link with the mainland. Governor said, he decided to go there when he could learn about the atrocities Sheikh Shajahan and his goons unleashed there. He took media persons with him. Security personnel advised him not to go there because of the acute security issues. They stopped the media persons as well. Still, he managed to reach there. He met the women and assured them that the Governor would stand with them. They accepted him as their own brother and tied rakhis on his wrest. Ananda Bose said that it was his responsibility to protect their modesty. Consequently women started to beat and slap the goons. It was mothers who brought changes to Bengal. Governor emphasised that women should scale the spiritual and physical heights led by Mythreyi and Gargi. The Governor stressed that mothers reveal knowledge as wisdom.

C V Ananda Bose stated on the occasion that now he does not have any altercation with Mamta Banerjee. No more snake and ladder game; now the relation is like Tom and Jerry.

Reception Committee Chairman K C Narendran presided. RSS Kerala Pranth Pracharak S Sudarsanan, acclaimed film-maker Vishnu Mohan, reputed actor Unni Mukundan, RSS Pranth Prachar Pramukh M Balakrishnan and Pranth Social Media Samyojak Viswaraj spoke on the occasion.

Then ‘Ex Muslim’ functionary Dr Arif Hussein Theruvath, BJP spokesperson Sandeep Vachaspati, senior journalist Shajan Skaria, journalist P Sandeep, BJP leader P Sivasankar, Vinod Strings, Actress Sivada, TV news presenter Lakshmi and Adv O M Shaleena addressed several sessions. RSS Sah Pranth Karyavah K P Radhakrishnan delivered the valedictory speech.

Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose presented Excellence Awards to film-maker Vishnu Mohan and actor Unni Mukundan. Award consisted of Rs 50,000 and a plaque. Ten social media influencers, who participated in Lakshya, were presented the Excellence Awards of Rs 10,000 each. Unni Mukundan declared that the award money he got would be dedicated for the education of the poor students.
