In a captivating revelation, Arun Yogiraj, the maestro behind the iconic Ram Lalla murti housed in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, has treated the internet to unseen glimpses of the statue’s creation. The unveiled images depict the sculpture in its nascent stages, providing a mesmerising insight into the meticulous process.

Sharing the behind-the-scenes snapshots on Instagram, Yogiraj, a sculptor hailing from Karnataka, expressed the profound connection sculptors forge with their creations. He noted, “Even after feeling confident about the proportions and symmetry, feeling the Ram Lalla through our sensitive touch will make a big difference in the final outcome.”

The Ram Lalla murti, representing a 5-year-old Bhagwan Rama standing on a lotus, holds a special place in the hearts of millions. Crafted from azure-coloured Krishna Shila (black schist), the 51-inch masterpiece was enshrined in the Ram Mandir during the consecration ceremony on January 22.

Yogiraj shared intriguing details, revealing that the eyes of the murti were sculpted within a span of 20 minutes during an auspicious muhurat, showcasing the sacred and meticulous nature of the creation process.

Arun Yogiraj, who diverted from a corporate career to embrace his sculpting roots in 2008, comes from a lineage of revered sculptors. His artistic journey has garnered global acclaim, making him a prominent figure in the world of sculpture. Yogiraj’s unveiling of the unseen stages of the Ram Lalla murti adds a fascinating chapter to the remarkable narrative of the revered deity’s manifestation.
