Swearing-in ceremony of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister will be historic, says state BJP chief VD Sharma

Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of newly designated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president VD Sharma on December 12, claimed that the ceremony would be historic.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at Motilal Nehru Stadium, Lal Parade ground in the state capital Bhopal on December 13. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and others will be present at the ceremony.

“Our newly designated Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and his cabinet will take the oath in the ceremony held at Motilal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday. It will be organised in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and National Party President JP Nadda and will be historic,” Sharma told reporters.
Earlier, Sharma along with other party officials took stock of the ongoing preparations at the venue of the program.

The BJP leader further praised the central leadership of the party saying under their leadership and strategy, the party emerged victorious with a resounding mandate in the state.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party got a historic majority under the leadership of PM Modi, strategy of Union Minister Shah and the guidance of Nadda in the recent state assembly elections. Mohan Yadav will take oath as the new CM of the state here on Wednesday. PM Modi, Shah, Nadda along with other party officials, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states will present in the ceremony. Apart from this, a large number of party workers will also be present in the program. I welcome everyone attending the program,” he added.

Yadav became MLA for the first time in 2013 from Ujjain Dakshin assembly seat. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he was once again elected and became MLA from the Ujjain Dakshin seat. Earlier on July 2, 2020, he took the oath as cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh government headed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Madhya Pradesh went to poll for 230 assembly seats in a single phase on November 17 and the counting of votes was done on December 3.

The BJP, which had been battling close to 20 years of incumbency in the state, won a resounding mandate, bagging 163 seats, while the Congress finished a distant second at 66 seats.
