SHREE Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya felicitated Sri Rajendra Arun of Mauritius with Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman for the year 2010 in Kolkata on 18 April. Presenting the Samman former Union HRD Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi said Shri Ram had assimilated all common people to defeat Ravana, the evil. He suggested to review the foreign policy of the country based on Sri Ram because there are thousands of places on the earth which include Ram in their names.
Eminent historian Sri Devendra Swarup spoke on the life of Dr Hedgewar, especially how he came to Kolkata to study medicine and met many revolutionaries. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ shared his experience of Mauritius visit and described Uttarakhand as devbhumi and Mauritius as swargabhumi.
Receiving the Samman Sri Rajendra Arun said he was an ardent follower of Kabir and Krishna in his first life but his inner mind felt Shri Ram as soul of Bharat. He said chanting the name of Shri Ram gives endless strength in all minds. He described Mauritius as the spiritual life centre of Sanatan Bharatiya culture. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Kshetra Sanghachalak Sri Ranendra Lal Banerjee, Shri Prabhat Kumar of Prabhat Prakashan, joint secretary of Vidya Bharati in Mauritius Shri Lakhsminarayan Bhala, etc.
