KARANJA: The Balasaheb Deoras Eye Hospital, established in Karanja, the ancestral village of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) third Sarsanghchalak Balasaheb Deoras and senior Pracharak Bhaurao Deoras, will be inaugurated by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday, October 6.
The hospital is expected to benefit people from Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh and Gondia district in Maharashtra, besides residents of several surrounding villages.
The inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Smriti Bhavan and the Balasaheb Deoras Eye Hospital, operated by Madhav Netralaya, will begin at 2:30 pm, said Sachin Agrawal, Secretary of the Balasaheb and Bhaurao Deoras Seva Nyas.
The central message of the invitation is “Rashtra Seva Hi Param Dharma” (Service to the Nation is the Highest Duty), reflecting the life and work of the Deoras brothers.
According to the Nyas, skill training for women through sewing machines is already being conducted at the centre. With the commencement of eye-care services, the facility will now extend healthcare support to people in the region.
Two Buildings, Two Purposes: Remembrance and Service
The two newly constructed buildings at Karanja will serve distinct purposes. The Smriti Bhavan will preserve the memories, life, thoughts and contribution of Balasaheb and Bhaurao Deoras, particularly their dedication to the work of the Sangh. It is envisaged as a centre of inspiration for the younger generation.
The Balasaheb Deoras Eye Hospital, meanwhile, will provide eye-care services to people in Balaghat, Gondia and neighbouring rural areas.
Dr Pawan Sthapak, President of the Seva Nyas, and Arvind Mardikar, Vice-President, have appealed to people to participate in the inauguration programme.
The initiative is being seen as an important milestone for Balaghat district, combining the preservation of the legacy of the Deoras brothers with a new effort towards healthcare and social service in the region.
