MUMBAI: A special cultural programme, ‘Gyanrang: MaulInchya Ovyancha Utsav’, presented by Valuable Group and organised by Merak Events, was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi on October 2, 2026, as part of the 750th birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj.
There, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat launched the special mobile application ‘Gyanrang: Dnyaneshwari’ during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhagwat said that Dnyaneshwari provides the knowledge to understand life and view the world. While the context of time changes, this knowledge and the culture emerging from it remain intact. Dnyaneshwari continues to guide society in the past, present and future.
He said every individual should experience at least one verse or ovi of Dnyaneshwari.
Dr Bhagwat said that the world and life are eternal, and Dnyaneshwari teaches people how to look at the world and understand life. This knowledge remains fundamentally the same everywhere. Across different periods, great personalities have presented this knowledge according to the circumstances of their times. Although periods and circumstances changed, the fundamental nature of the knowledge and the culture created from it remained intact.
He recalled that during the period of foreign invasions, Bharatiya society remained rooted and flourished on the strength of devotion. He emphasised that this knowledge should reach every section of society.
“Today, Bharat has the responsibility of showing the path to the world,” Dr Bhagwat said, describing Dnyaneshwari as an invaluable treasure of Bharat’s knowledge tradition. He stressed the need to take this heritage to the younger generation and to seekers of knowledge across the world.
Bringing Dnyaneshwari to the Digital Generation
The ‘Gyanrang: Dnyaneshwari’ app has been developed with the objective of taking this heritage to the younger generation through modern technological platforms. The initiative seeks to create a meaningful confluence of devotion, knowledge and modern technology.
Through the app, the ovis of Sant Dnyaneshwar can be listened to, read and understood as part of daily life. While listening to an ovi, users can simultaneously read its words on the screen.
The concept of the app was developed by Amey Hete, Managing Director of Valuable Group.
‘Sampurna Dnyaneshwari Shravan’ series launched
During the programme, Dr Mohan Bhagwat also launched the ‘Sampurna Dnyaneshwari Shravan’ series on YouTube, featuring the verses of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita along with the complete recitation of Dnyaneshwari.
The initiative aims to make Dnyaneshwari easily accessible to people who find it difficult to read the text amid the fast pace of modern life.
The series has been conceptualised and the Dnyaneshwari recitation performed by Renuka Deshkar, while Srinivas Varnekar recited the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
Before the official launch of the app, a captivating musical presentation based on the extraordinary compositions of Sant Dnyaneshwar was organised. Renowned singers Prathamesh Laghate, Mugdha Vaishampayan and Ketaki Chaitanya presented various ovis and musical compositions of Sant Dnyaneshwar.
Senior commentator Dr Sanjay Upadhye delivered an analytical exposition on the literature of Sant Dnyaneshwar. The programme was conducted by Milind Kulkarni.
