BENGALURU, KARNATAKA: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on September 19 launched the National Organisation for Digital Employees (NODE) in Bengaluru, marking a significant step toward organised representation for employees in the Information Technology, IT-enabled Services and emerging digital sectors.
Established under the BMS umbrella, NODE will bring IT and digital professionals together to address workplace challenges and promote employee welfare, social security, dignity of labour and responsible employment practices. It is a national platform for the rights, welfare and dignity of IT and digital employees
Addressing the gathering, B Surendranji, All India Organising Secretary, BMS said, “Technological progress and the welfare of employees must move together. Every employee deserves dignity, social security and a secure future in the changing digital economy.”
S Malleshamji, National President of BMS said, “NODE will provide IT and digital employees with an organised platform to raise their legitimate concerns, strengthen collective representation and contribute constructively to India’s technological development.”
Rapid advances in artificial intelligence, automation, cloud computing and platform technologies are creating opportunities while raising concerns about job security, working hours, career uncertainty, work-life balance, professional dignity, social security and the impact of technological change on employment.
NODE will provide an organised platform to discuss these issues and pursue legitimate workplace and welfare interests. It will promote:

- Fair and transparent employment practices
- Job security and social security
- Healthy work-life balance and humane working conditions
- Protection against workplace discrimination and harassment
- Professional growth and skill development
- Responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence and automation

BMS emphasises that technological progress and employee welfare must advance together. Digital transformation should remain people-centric, recognising employees as essential contributors to India’s economic and technological development rather than merely as resources.
NODE will raise awareness of employees’ rights and responsibilities and encourage dialogue among employees, employers and relevant institutions.
With NODE, BMS is extending its organised labour movement into one of India’s fastest-growing workforce segments. The initiative will build a modern, professional and employee-oriented framework suited to the digital workplace while upholding worker dignity, social security, collective representation and national development.
The Bengaluru launch begins a broader effort to connect IT and digital employees across India’s states and technology centres. NODE will seek to articulate the voice, aspirations and legitimate concerns of the digital workforce constructively and democratically.
