New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to witness a historic milestone later this month as Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat will, for the first time, hold an extensive dialogue with eminent women from across India on the theme “Yuganukul Matrutva” (Contemporary Motherhood). The interaction, organised under the aegis of Vishwa Mangalya Sabha, is expected to become one of the most significant intellectual engagements on the role of motherhood, family values and women’s leadership in contemporary society.
The special session will be held on July 24 at 5:00 PM at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi, where Dr Bhagwat will not only deliver a keynote address but will also participate in an interactive question-and-answer session with women delegates.
According to organisers, this marks the first occasion during the tenure of any of the five RSS Sarsanghchalaks that the organisation’s head will dedicate an exclusive dialogue to the subject of motherhood with distinguished women representatives from across the country.
Vishwa Mangalya Sabha completes 16 years
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Dr Vrushali Joshi, National Organising Secretary of Vishwa Mangalya Sabha, outlined the organisation’s journey over the past 16 years.
Founded on January 19, 2010, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Vishwa Mangalya Sabha has been working towards the empowerment of women, strengthening family values and promoting social awareness through cultural and intellectual initiatives.
The organisation’s guiding motto, “Na Matu Par Daivatam” (There is no deity greater than the mother), reflects its commitment to recognising the central role of mothers in family and nation-building.
Dr Joshi stated that the organisation functions independently and focuses on creating positive social and cultural transformation among women. Today, it has an organisational presence across 33 regions of India, supported by approximately 3,500 office-bearers and nearly 600,000 women members.
First-ever RSS dialogue on motherhood
Describing the programme as unprecedented, Dr. Joshi said the upcoming interaction represents a significant moment in the organisational history of the RSS.
She noted that never before has an RSS chief engaged exclusively with women intellectuals on the subject of motherhood through an open dialogue and interactive session.
The organisers believe the discussion will examine the changing dimensions of motherhood in the context of modern society while exploring its role in family, culture and national development.
Two regional enlightenment meetings planned
As part of its nationwide outreach, Vishwa Mangalya Sabha has scheduled separate Prabodhan (Enlightenment) Meetings for North and South India.
The North India Prabodhan Meeting will be held on July 23 and 24 at the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Around 280 women representatives from 19 regions, including Jammu, Ladakh, West Bengal, Awadh, Malwa, Rajasthan and Bihar, are expected to participate.
The South India meeting is scheduled for July 25 and 26 in Hyderabad, where approximately 1,300 delegates are expected to attend.
Organisers estimate that 700 to 800 women from different parts of North India will be present during the Delhi interaction with Dr Bhagwat.
Interactive session to focus on contemporary challenges
The organisers said the dialogue has been designed to encourage meaningful discussions on the changing role of mothers in contemporary society.
Apart from Dr Bhagwat’s address, the programme will feature an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to raise queries and share perspectives on issues relating to family, values, education and social transformation.
Media arrangements
Vishwa Mangalya Sabha has also announced special arrangements for media coverage.
On July 24 at 9:30 AM, media representatives will be provided a photo opportunity with RSS chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat at the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra during the concluding session of the North India Prabodhan Meeting.
Following the completion of the meetings, the organisation will officially brief the media on its annual roadmap, key resolutions and the outcomes of the deliberations held during the two-day sessions.
The Delhi programme is expected to bring together women from diverse professional, academic and social backgrounds, making it one of the largest thematic discussions on motherhood and family values organised under the banner of Vishwa Mangalya Sabha.
