New Delhi: The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check unit has refuted social media reports claiming that Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal were in London along with judges and participating in a badminton tournament.

#PIBFactCheck

In a post on X, PIB Fact Check clarified that the viral claims are false and misleading, stating that the information being circulated on social media has no factual basis.

PIB Fact Check addressed a series of social media posts alleging that Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal were in London along with judges and taking part in a badminton event.

Dismissing the reports as false, the fact-checking unit clarified that neither minister was visiting London. “This claim is fake. Minister Kiren Rijiju and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal are not visiting London,” PIB Fact Check said in a statement. The agency also noted that photographs being shared online in support of the claim were being presented out of context and misused to spread misinformation.

PIB Fact Check clarified that the images being circulated online with claims linking them to London are being falsely represented. According to the agency, the photographs were actually taken during the All India Judges’ Badminton Championship held at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi in November 2025.

“The viral photos are not from London. These photographs were taken during a badminton event organised at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi in November 2025,” PIB Fact Check said.

PIB Fact Check also advised the public to refrain from sharing unverified or misleading content on social media and urged citizens to rely on official sources for accurate information. The agency further encouraged people to report suspicious photos, videos, or messages related to the Central government for fact-checking and verification.

To substantiate its clarification, PIB Fact Check shared a post made by Kiren Rijiju on November 29, 2025. The post included photographs from the All India Judges’ Badminton Championship held at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi.

Sharing the images at the time, Rijiju had written: “Had a wonderful time participating in the All India Judges’ Badminton Championship 2025 at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi. Sharing the court with CJI, Justice Surya Kant ji; Justice Vikram Nath; MoS Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and many esteemed judges was both memorable and energising.”
