LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed Lucknow Seva Jyoti Yatra-Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha at Patel Park in Hazratganj on Wednesday 07th October, 2026, describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi twenty-five years in public life as a journey from a small Gujarat village to global stature.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, former minister Dr Mahendra Singh, MLA Pankaj Singh and several senior party leaders joined the Chief Minister on the dais for the event, organised near the Lucknow GPO.
A journey from village to global stage
Describing the milestone, the Chief Minister said an ordinary party worker who rose from a small Gujarat village has given India a new identity on the global stage. He called the quarter-century spanning Modi tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and then Prime Minister a journey of transformation in the life of every Indian citizen and urged workers to carry this resolve forward toward the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
A month long statewide campaign
The Lucknow gathering forms part of the state-wide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long campaign running from September 17, Modi’s seventy-sixth birthday, to October 17. Across Uttar Pradesh, the campaign has carried programmes on public service, health, sanitation and nation-building down to the village and nyaya panchayat level.
With the stated aim of connecting ordinary citizens to the collective resolve of Viksit Bharat 2047 rather than confining the commemoration to official functions alone.
Patel Park: A Venue of National Unity
The choice of venue carried its own resonance. Patel Park takes its name from the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that stands at its centre and speakers repeatedly invoked the Iron Man of Indian legacy of national unity while describing the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan as a continuation of that same civilisational thread, linking the integration of princely states after Independence to the present resolve of building a developed, self-reliant nation by 2047.
Before addressing the Sankalp Sabha, Chief Minister Yogi toured an exhibition titled ‘Jan Seva se Desh Seva’, built around twelve years of the Modi government welfare initiatives and development works in Uttar Pradesh. The exhibition traced schemes spanning housing, health, financial inclusion and infrastructure, offering visitors a visual record of the period the day speeches sought to commemorate.
Four Pillars of Welfare: DBT, Digital India and Jan Dhan
Running through the Chief Minister address was a recurring emphasis on four constituencies of welfare for the youth empowerment, women safety, farmer welfare and employment generation, themes he described as having gained new momentum under the Prime Minister leadership.
He cited skilling and start-up support for youth, strengthened policing and helpline systems for women security, assured procurement and crop insurance for farmers and new industrial corridors opening employment avenues across the state’s districts.
“Today every Indian takes pride in celebrating twenty-five years of the Prime Minister’s round-the-clock service to the nation.” — Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at the Sankalp Sabha
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister pointed to Direct Benefit Transfer as evidence of governance reaching ordinary citizens without intermediaries. He said funds sent from Delhi and Lucknow now reach the bank accounts of the poor, women, farmers, youth and labourers directly, a transparency he contrasted with the era before such digital systems existed.
The Chief Minister also referenced Digital India and the Jan Dhan Yojana, schemes he said were once mocked by opponents but have since become central to the delivery of welfare. He described this as an answer to what he called the dishonesty of the Congress and the INDI alliance in their earlier criticism of these initiatives.
Atmanirbharta in Technology and Defence
On technology and strategic capability, the Chief Minister said India is moving rapidly toward self-reliance in both technology and defence production. He linked this to the wider Atmanirbhar Bharat push, telling the gathering that today’s Indian youth carry a new self-confidence, with opportunities expanding across employment, railways, technology and defence manufacturing alike.
Railways, Runways and Rising Aspirations
The Chief Minister extended the theme to everyday mobility, noting that air travel, once an unreachable dream for ordinary citizens, is now within reach for people who once could not have imagined boarding a flight. He cited this alongside expanding railway infrastructure as evidence of change reaching beyond metropolitan centres into smaller towns.
From ‘One District One Mafia’ to ‘One District One Medical College’
Turning to the state own governance record, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has moved from an era associated with district-level criminal syndicates to one defined by district-level medical colleges, framing it as part of the same transformation underway nationally. He paired this with references to the One District One Product and One District One Dish schemes supporting local artisans and cuisines.
The Chief Minister also used the platform to comment on the political arithmetic ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, offering an assessment of the National Democratic Alliance support base against what he termed the opposition PDA grouping. The remark made before the assembled workers, was reported widely by local media covering the event.
Following the Chief Minister address, Prime Minister Modi administered the collective Viksit Bharat 2047 resolution to citizens nationwide through a virtual address. Party office-bearers then presented Chief Minister Yogi with a ceremonial torch, formally launching the Seva Jyoti Yatra, which proceeded from Patel Park toward Babu Bhavan near the GPO.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, speaking at the same event said Prime Minister Modi’s twenty-five years of uninterrupted service have transformed the nation, with every section of society now advancing toward the resolve of a developed India. He said the campaign was designed to carry that message of service to citizens across every constituency.
Carrying the Seva Jyoti Forward
Closing his remarks, Chief Minister Yogi asked party workers to carry the Seva Jyoti onward into their respective assembly constituencies over the coming days, extending the Lucknow ceremony into a state-wide relay.
He conveyed greetings on behalf of Uttar Pradesh’s twenty-five crore residents to the Prime Minister, and wished party workers and citizens well on the occasion marking twenty-five years of what the Chief Minister described as uninterrupted public service.
A sea season of Seva Sankalp across states
Lucknow ceremony was not an isolated event on the BJP’s political calendar this month. Similar Seva Sankalp programmes have unfolded across Uttar Pradesh district headquarters, while neighbouring states have run parallel campaigns under the same banner.
Uttarakhand government launched its own Seva Sankalp Campaign in mid-September with lamp-lighting drives and cycle rallies and Madhya Pradesh marked the occasion with a Deepotsav in Ujjain that lit more than twenty-five lakh lamps along the Shipra River.
Varanasi, the Prime Minister own parliamentary constituency, hosted the Seva Sankalp Yatra’s reception the same week, alongside a theatrical tribute to his public life and preparations for the city’s first Indian Air Force air show later in October.
All these events suggest a campaign built less around a single rally than a rolling calendar of state-level commemorations, each adapted to local symbolism, yet converging on the same message: that a quarter-century of one leader public service should be marked not through ceremony alone, but through a collective civic resolve carried, as the Chief Minister put it, from the party worker’s doorstep to the nation’s villages.
With the Seva Jyoti now making its way from Patel Park toward Babu Bhavan and similar torches due to pass through every assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh before October 17, the Lucknow sabha was less a closing act than an opening one, for a campaign still ten days from its stated conclusion.
