Ranchi: Addressing a press conference organised by Janjati Suraksha Manch at the Press Club, Ranchi, National Convener Dr Raj Kishore Hansda expressed happiness over the successful organisation of Janjati Sanskritik Samagam 2026 held in Delhi.

He said that organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary year of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Samagam emerged as a grand symbol of Janjati culture, traditions, faith, identity and national integration. Lakhs of men and women belonging to hundreds of Janjati communities from across the country participated in the event and showcased their rich cultural heritage. The programme stood as a historic demonstration of the Janjati society’s self-respect, organisational strength and national consciousness.

He stated that a large number of Janjati representatives from Jharkhand and various other states participated in the Samagam and presented the rich legacy of Janjati life on a national platform through their traditional attire, folk arts, folk dances and cultural traditions.

Janjati Suraksha Manch has been continuously working for the protection of the Janjati society’s cultural identity, traditional faith and constitutional rights. In continuation of these efforts, after the Samagam, a delegation of the Manch met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi and placed before them important issues and demands concerning the Janjati society.

He said that the Janjati society is not merely a constitutional category but a living embodiment of a distinct culture, traditions, customs and way of life. Therefore, a clear and effective legal framework is necessary to protect its identity and rights.

Dr Raj Kishore Hansda expressed gratitude to members of the Janjati society, social organisations, karyakartas, women’s groups, youth, media representatives and supporting institutions who contributed to the success of the Samagam. He expressed confidence that the event would further strengthen the spirit of cultural awakening, social unity and self-respect among the Janjati society.
