Several eminent citizens of Bhubaneswar, educationists, intellectuals, and former student karyakartas of ABVP attended the event in large numbers, making the civic reception a significant gathering ahead of the National Executive Council Meeting.

CM Majhi Welcomes Delegates from Across the Nation

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed student representatives and youth leaders from across the country who had assembled in Bhubaneswar for the National Executive Council Meeting of ABVP.

Describing Bhubaneswar as the temple city of Odisha and the sacred land of Bhagwan Jagannath, art, culture, and Vedic tradition, Majhi said the city was an ideal venue for a national gathering focused on youth leadership and social transformation.

He said ABVP has consistently worked towards student welfare, national interest, and social awareness by following its guiding principles of “Knowledge, Character and Unity.”

“Today’s youth must aspire not merely to become job seekers, but job creators. Entrepreneurship, innovation, and youth leadership will play a crucial role in the making of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Chief Minister said.

Focus on Character Building and Social Responsibility

The Chief Minister praised ABVP for initiating campaigns that encourage youth participation in nation-building activities beyond academics and career aspirations.

He highlighted the organisation’s ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’ campaign, stating that it is inspiring students towards social service, environmental awareness, sports, and constructive engagement in society.

“1949 से लेकर आज तक अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद ने इस देश को केवल छात्र नेता ही नहीं दिए, बल्कि राष्ट्रहित के लिए समर्पित चरित्रवान नागरिक और सशक्त नेतृत्व भी दिया है।”

He also appreciated the ‘Mission Sahasi’ initiative, which focuses on building self-confidence and self-defence awareness among girl students.“Through its continuous efforts, ABVP has proven that ‘Students’ Power is Nation’s Power’,” Majhi remarked.

He further stated that since its establishment in 1949, ABVP has not only produced student leaders but has also contributed towards creating nationalist leadership and responsible citizens committed to the nation.

“From the Emergency to issues related to national security and social transformation, ABVP has remained at the forefront of national movements,” he added.

Expressing confidence in the deliberations of the upcoming National Executive Council Meeting, Majhi said the discussions and decisions taken during the event would contribute positively towards the nation and society under the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath.

ABVP Calls for Nationalist Youth Leadership

Speaking on the occasion, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said that the National Executive Council Meeting being organised in Bhubaneswar was an important gathering that would provide new direction to national interest, student welfare, and cultural consciousness.

He described Bhubaneswar as the sacred land of Mahaprabhu Jagannath and Baba Lingaraj and said the spiritual and cultural environment of Odisha adds significance to the national event.

“In the present atmosphere of global instability and changing national circumstances, Bharat must emerge as a balanced global leader. For this, the youth and students of the nation must come forward with a spirit of nationalism and social commitment,” Dr Solanki said.

He stated that ABVP has consistently raised issues related to illegal Bangladeshi infiltration, changing demography, and threats to democratic values in the country.

According to him, the organisation’s ideological and social campaigns have contributed towards strengthening democratic values and national consciousness among youth across India.

Campaigns Addressing Mental Health and Screen Addiction

Dr Solanki also drew attention to the growing challenges of mental stress and excessive screen time among students and youth.

He said campaigns such as ‘Anandmay Sarthak Chhatra Jeevan’ and ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’ are encouraging students to adopt a healthy, positive, and balanced lifestyle.

“These campaigns are helping reconnect Gen-Z with Bharatiya consciousness, social values, and the spirit of nation-building,” he added.

Highlighting various ABVP initiatives, he said programmes such as Mission Sahasi, Chhatra Sansad, Think India, Medivision, Agrivision, and Pharma Vision are focused on leadership development, character building, policy engagement, and nurturing nationalist personalities among students.

He expressed confidence that the National Executive Council Meeting in Bhubaneswar would provide fresh direction and renewed energy to the organisation’s future activities.

Maharaja Kharavela Exhibition Draws Attention

As part of the celebrations and preparations for the National Executive Council Meeting, a grand exhibition titled ‘Maharaja Kharavela Exhibition’ was organised within the auditorium premises of the venue.

The exhibition showcased Odisha’s glorious historical legacy, folk traditions, educational heritage, and the year-round activities undertaken by ABVP across the country.

Prepared by 30 students through nearly 120 hours of dedicated effort, the exhibition reflected both the cultural richness of Odisha and the organisational journey of ABVP.
