Bhubaneswar: The National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will be held from May 29 to 31, 2026, at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar, the sacred land of Lord Jagannath. The three-day national-level meeting will bring together student leaders, academicians and organisational representatives from across the country to deliberate on key educational, organisational, social and national issues.
Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said that a total of 484 representatives from different states are expected to participate in the meeting. The delegates will include national office bearers of ABVP, student representatives from educational campuses, academicians and karyakartas associated with various organisational dimensions and activities.
Central Working Committee Meeting on May 27
Prior to the NEC meeting, the organisation will hold its Central Working Committee Meeting on May 27, in which around 106 karyakartas from across the country are expected to participate.
On May 28, meetings of various organisational dimensions, activities and forums of ABVP will be conducted. These sessions will focus on reviewing year-long activities, programmes, organisational expansion plans and future strategies.

Detailed discussions will be held on initiatives related to sports, arts, service activities, environmental awareness, research, medical education, agriculture, technology, tribal outreach and international student engagement. Organisational leaders will also review the functioning of various units and chart out plans for expansion and strengthening of activities in these sectors.
Civic Reception Ceremony to Be Organised
A “Civic Reception Ceremony” will be organised on the eve of the NEC meeting, bringing together former and present ABVP karyakartas, eminent personalities from different fields, academicians and social leaders.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the programme as the Chief Guest.
The event is expected to serve as a platform for interaction between student leadership and prominent personalities associated with social and educational development.
Focus on Education, Youth and National Issues
During the three-day meeting, extensive deliberations will take place on the prevailing national scenario, the education system, the role of youth in nation-building, national security, economic and social issues, and contemporary challenges facing society.
The NEC meeting will also review the outcomes of the “Akhil Bharatiya Vichar Baithak 2025” and deliberate on the implementation of decisions taken during the “Sangathanatmak Vichar Baithak 2026”.
Apart from reviewing organisational and campaign-based activities, the meeting will finalise the action plan for the coming year. Discussions will also focus on ensuring student union elections in educational institutions across the country. Student union representatives and karyakartas from colleges and universities are expected to actively participate in these deliberations.
Review of Major National Campaigns
The council meeting will also review several major campaigns and initiatives being undertaken by ABVP across the country. These include the “Screen Time to Activity Time Campaign”, “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, “Hostel Survey Campaign”, “Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Birth Centenary Year”, “50 Years of Resistance to Emergency”, “350 Years of the Sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur” and the “650th Prakatyotsav of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji”.
Leaders will discuss future plans related to these initiatives and formulate strategies for wider outreach and implementation.
The organisation will also deliberate on qualitative organisational growth through membership expansion, campus unit formation and innovative initiatives undertaken by various state units. Based on the review of these experiments and campaigns, targets for the coming year will be determined.
Future Organisational Plans to Be Finalised
Important discussions are also expected on the proposed National Conference 2026, SEIL Yatra, international student outreach programmes and future plans of various organisational dimensions.
Resolutions concerning education, social issues, economy, national security and youth-related contemporary concerns will be passed during the meeting.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Dr. Solanki said the NEC meeting would play a crucial role in determining the future direction of Vidyarthi Parishad in the context of present-day opportunities and challenges.
“This meeting will serve as an important platform for extensive deliberations on organisational, educational, environmental, economic, national security and youth-related issues. The resolutions passed here will guide the activities of ABVP units across cities and campuses in the coming days,” he said.
He added that organising the meeting in the culturally and spiritually vibrant city of Bhubaneswar would further strengthen organisational energy, ideological clarity and programmatic expansion among student communities.
ABVP National Secretary Kshama Sharma, National Media Convener Harsh Atri, State Secretary Deeptimayi Pratihari and Mahanagar Secretary Gangadhar Padhi were also present at the press conference.
