Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Telangana has issued a strong warning against what it described as “false propaganda” and “baseless rumours” being spread against the organisation and its functionaries in connection with the controversy involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
In a press statement issued in Hyderabad on May 21, RSS Telangana Prant Sanghchalak Barla Sundar Reddy alleged that certain media organisations were deliberately attempting to drag the RSS and its workers into unnecessary controversies to defame the organisation.
The statement strongly objected to reports mentioning the names of RSS functionaries, including Prant Karyavah Shri Kacham Ramesh Ji and Prant Pracharak Shri Lingam Sridhar Ji, and alleged that some media sections were spreading “false and fabricated stories” claiming that they had financial dealings with Bandi Sanjay and were therefore trying to protect him.
RSS Telangana stated that its workers are engaged in selfless public service and accused certain media organisations of intentionally targeting reputed functionaries and attempting to damage their credibility through “motivated propaganda”.
The organisation warned that strict legal action would be initiated against individuals or organisations spreading “baseless and defamatory” reports against the RSS and its workers.
Clarifying its position, RSS Telangana said that internal and organisational affairs of the Bharatiya Janata Party are directly supervised and coordinated only by the BJP central leadership, and that the RSS state unit has no direct intervention in such matters.
The statement further alleged that despite these facts, some media organisations were continuing to publish “false narratives” linking RSS workers with Bandi Sanjay through alleged financial connections in an attempt to tarnish the organisation’s image.
The statement released by Rajagopal, Prant Prachar Pramukh, RSS Telangana urged media organisations to stop spreading what it termed as false propaganda and cautioned that failure to do so would invite legal consequences under the law.
