NEW DELHI: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Delhi organised a massive protest outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters in Delhi against the NEET-UG paper leak case, continuous irregularities in the examination process, and the grave tampering with the future of students. During the protest, Delhi Police used force against ABVP activists and students, subsequently taking them into custody.
ABVP maintains that recurring discrepancies in national-level examinations are a direct assault on the hard work, trust, and future of millions of students across the country. The paper leak in a high-stakes exam like NEET-UG is not merely an administrative failure but a serious question mark on the credibility of the entire examination system. Injustice of this nature is unacceptable for students who appear for these exams after years of rigorous preparation and tireless effort.
ABVP has demanded that the investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak case be conducted in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner, and that all facts related to the investigation be made public so that the entire nexus behind the malpractice can be exposed and dismantled, thereby restoring the confidence of students across the country.
The Parishad further stated that the conduct of national-level examinations cannot be left to temporary and outsourced arrangements. Entrusting sensitive responsibilities such as printing, examination centre management, and staffing to private agencies creates serious security concerns and increases the possibility of recurrence of such incidents.
Sarthak Sharma, State Secretary, ABVP Delhi, stated: “It is extremely unfortunate that instead of fixing accountability on such a sensitive issue concerning the future of students, attempts are being made to suppress their voices. ABVP has always stood for student interests and will continue to fight for the rights of the 22 lakh candidates affected by the NEET-UG paper leak until justice is served. It is regrettable that despite being a national agency, the NTA remains dependent on private companies. ABVP demands an impartial probe into this matter and strict punitive action against the culprits to ensure such a situation never arises again.”
